This is religious co-existence in practice in 99% Malay Muslim PAS ruled Kelantan.
The biggest sleeping Buddha in the world is not in Thailand, Cambodia Sri Lanka or India where Buddhism originated from but it is in Kg. Neting, Tumpat Kelantan.
In multi racial and multi religious Malaysia it should be religious coexistence as opposed to religious tolerance.
Then we wont get the case of the UMNO majority and dominant area like in Section 19 and 22 of Shah Alam objecting to hindu temple because it is a Malay Muslim dominated area and the cow head protest by the religious extremist who were never arrested on sight and who would never be seriously prosecuted by the Attorney General in Prime Minister Najib Razak’s One Malaysia.

I visited this Sleeping Buddha in Kelantan with my parents and aunties. It’s really awesome! Lots of visitors too. Large area, very peaceful.
I believe every religion teaches followers to be good, kind and polite! It is those people with bad intentions who bend such teachings and become arrogant as seen in these cow-head demonstrators!

In Kelantan, you will find not only the Sleeping Buddha but also the Sitting Buddha, The Standing Buddha, the Dragon Boat Buddha and a host of others all built on large tracts of land allocated by the state. Apart from these there are also dozens of Taoist temples all over Kelantan.
More than 20 years ago, I visited that Reclining Buddha in Kelantan when I journeyed from KL to Penang via the East-West Highway. I remembered my first remark in astonishment ‘ what? they have it here in KELANTAN too?’

Two Malaysian Catholics have lodged a police report against the Al Islam magazine over an article in which a Muslim journalist took the holy communion at a Kuala Lumpur parish before taking the wafer from his mouth and photographing it.
The journalist, whose byline in the article was Muhd Ridhwan Abdul Jalil, described the holy communion ritual as “upacara makan roti putih” (“white bread eating ceremony”) and wrote about how he was given the wafer by the priest. The article also carried a photograph of the wafer with a caption that identified it as the wafer that was placed in his mouth.
Xavier and Stanley in a press statement said they were “outraged that these Muslim men consumed it (the communion) only to spit it out later, have it photographed, and have its image published.”

This report has just come about the right time, especially after the cow head protest, and the cowhead stompings by the ultras, and you know whom. Our forefathers who were brainwashed since independence by the Perikatan folks, i.e “as non-Muslims, never vote for PAS”. We were definitely very scared of PAS and its Islamic ideology which was not clear, and let us be frank, which they were unable to share with the vast majority of Malayans at that time as we do not have the net and all the modern news media. To the Chinese, Perikatan said, do not vote PAS because of Islam, and to the Malays, they told them, do not vote DAP because it is a Chinese chauvinist party, but over the period of time, and with the advent of the alternative media, things certainly had changed!
Today, we have an elite group of Malays who dare to openly work with the DAP, and who speaks and canvassed votes actively for the DAP, and we have an equally different breed of Chinese and Indians who openly canvassed and carried the flags of PAS during elections. This certainly augurs well for the rakyat of the country, while the BN continue with their rascists agenda. Little by little by the day, whatever support they have continues to erode.
Honestly, we cannot continue to be misled by the BN led government, they had misled our grandfathers, our fathers and now certainly, we should wake up and not to allow them to continue to mislead us and our children. There is only one way for us all of us if we continue to blindly support BN i.e DOOM!
The politician that deserves the respect of all Malaysians irregardless of race or religion is undoubtedly one man, and he is none other than the Tok Guru of Kelantan! A man of substance, he never wavered from his beiefs and stand! He never shirked from his responsibility and is never fickle, or flip flop. He is the model that all PAS politicians should follow and Malaysians will present the Government to PAS.
But first and foremost, get rid of that Hassan Ali guy, this guy is dangerous and is flirting openly with UMNO. I regretted in voting him in 1999, that made him an MP, but after that, the constituents never saw him again. Because of his poor service record, PAS lost the constituency in the next general election, but took back the seat in 2008. It would be good if Hassan Ali declares himself and independent who is friendy to the BN, rather than sticking to PAS when his heart is hell bent on becoming the Menteri Besar of Selangor. The same applies to Nasharuddin Mat Isa, we do not need you in PR. I was really taken in by his rationale during one of the many “Debat Perdana” and he gave many a false sense of security that it is safe to vote for PAS, but then you can see his true colours after the 2008, political tsunami. The desire to be a Minister, is so irresistible, and the true Nasharuddin showed its colour. Please leave PR and join BN, please! Luckily, we have the Tok Guru with us and who had provened to all Malaysians, that even in a state where the population is 99.9% Malays, racial harmony and religious tolerance is something that PAS is proud to foster and promote and it can exhibit this to the world, unlike the cowhead stompers from UMNO!!!!!!

Cow-head meeting descends into chaos

SHAH ALAM, Sept 5 — The town hall meeting called today by Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim to hold dialogue over the recent cow-head protest controversy has descended into chaos, with around 300 residents from Section 23 jeering and mocking the ongoing meeting.
Proceedings barely got off the ground before the protesters started shouting and booing at Khalid, along with Khalid Samad (MP for Shah Alam), and Shah Alam mayor Mazalan Md Noor.
Despite calls for calm, the ruckus is continuing with the upset residents yelling “Penipu!” (liar!) and “Bodoh!” (stupid!) when the Khalid attempted to address them.
Tempers are increasingly frayed, with protesters starting to get rowdier, some standing on their chairs while shouting.
Last Friday, a group of 50 protesters from the Section 23 area in Shah Alam held a demonstration in front of the state secretariat building to protest the planned relocation of the 150-year-old Sri Mahamariamman Temple to Section 23 from Section 19. They brandished a severed head of a cow at the protest.
The 150-year-old temple was built on a plantation which over the years was developed into housing estates by the Selangor Development Corporation (PKNS). No provisions were made to relocate the temple, which is now in the middle of a Muslim majority area.

Hahaha! Not surprising! The way the rascists UMNO acts at the dialouge organized by the PR Govt. to relocate the temple. It is good and great to show everyone the real and true colours of UMNO. Their policy remains, if the coffer is empty, harga Barang Naik and they get to fill their coffers again. If not, allow more special 4d draws, that is the only way they know how to fill their coffers. Will they ever learn? Hahaha, the price of fuel had fallen and not increased since thier statements that world price of crude had increased.
Let us hope Malaysians of all walks of life realized what changes can do. Indonesia had done so well after the winds of change swept through Indonesia with the demise of the Golkar, Thailand is recovering, Taiwan had done well and Japan, Japan, too had kicked the LDP out. Singapore is shivering and when will Malaysians wake up and with one heart and determination kick the present UMNO led regime out for good. We can vote them in if the PR does not perform and if they repent and not cause unnecessary rifts between the people of all races of Malaysia.

I think this is Kelantan led by Nik Aziz. We cannot equate his leadership style and tolerance with PAS. Look at PAS Terengganu, under Hadi. I beg to differ. About 80% of “halal” big business and manufacturing are operated by the nons. Notice the halal certification on almost all your snack-foods, beverages, sauces etc?
