It’s rather amazing to learn that the PAS-led Kelantan state government has appointed an UMNO guy to work in its corporate information department. This guy is not only a former branch UMNO Youth chief but a notorious blogger at that!
Syed Azidi Syed Abdul Aziz, popularly known as Blogger Kickdefella will assume the duties of Kelantan Chief Minister’s Corporate Information Officer under the PMBK (Perbadanan Menteri Besar) Group of Companies beginning 15 April 2007.
Sheih, well-known for his provocative but extremely creative and humourous posters on political leaders, including Prime MInister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, handed in his resignation as a lecturer in the MCA-owned UTAR (Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman), Petaling Jaya on 7 April. He lectured in the field of Broadcast and Filming.
Prior to this, Sheih was a director, producer and script writer for films and television programs. Some of the films directed by Sheih include Persona Non Grata, Earl Grey & Kopi Kampung and Kuartet Merdeka. Sheih also produced the tele-zine Sensasi Auto for four season for Astro Ria.
During his 12-year stint in the film industry, Sheih has earned himself several accolades which include Best Story for Perempuan Melayu Terakhir and Most Promising Director for Persona Non Grata. Persona Non Grata represented Malaysia at the Asia Pacific Film Festival in Taiwan in 2006.
Politically-inclined Sheih used to be the Sri Hartamas UMNO Youth chief for two terms. Currently, he is the Youth exco for the same branch.
Husam Musa, PAS Vice-chief, and a blogger himself at Weblog Husam Musa I Home, said Sheih was appointed based on his creative and productive skills, and not based on his political affiliations.
“We are not so concerned about his political background as much as we are concerned about his creative skills,” said Husam, in a telephone conversation with me recently.
In a way, Sheih’s appointment while still being an UMNO man, reflects the openess and the seriousness of the PAS led government in wanting to develop and strategise the state, considering the fact that it is now being heavily challenged by UMNO and may not be able to retain ts current position come next election.
PAS’ willingness to engage Sheih, who is now the pro-tem committee member of the newly formed National Alliance of Bloggers, was also based on his popularity as a blogger, and in a big way this is a strong recognition for bloggers all over the country.
Lets wish Sheih all the best in his future endeavors and lets hope he will continue to do us proud with his wonderful blogging and unforgettable posters!

All of you know Sheih is very close to me. I know he has a good offer by PAS to be based at Kota Baru and we will meet before he leaves for Kelantan.
Yes that guy focus on blogging to get all citizens together….as Malaysians…..that’s why we are so closed..so much so he call me ..his fatherly figure and appointed me as frontliner….meaning protecting site from being turn into rojak.
But alas..few three heavy weights blog owners have plans for me at Sheih’s site..one irritate with a language I don’t understand…one insult..and the other calling me a racialist.
Still he insisted I stay as his closet elder brother and frontliner.
Yes..I will miss him that easy to contact in KL…but Kota Baru ..is a stone throw by plane.
He said he will continue blogging…but in the national language…but I do hope he has two languages sites…continue the present as everyone knows him well that way…and starts the Bahasa…..just like many other blog owners.
Sheih will have a very bright future in Kelantan and most of all…near his old mother!!

As usual, you’re have your finger precisely on the pulse of the nation or rather the Malaysian blogosphere.
Sheih went through a difficult time at one stage, managed to pick himself up and continued to blog albeit with a renewed sense of purpose.
He provided us with a malay saying “Patah sayap, terbang jua” which loosely translated means “With broken wings, I shall still fly”. It was about the same time when both of you launched the Bloggers United movement.
Let’s pray for his (and his family’s) well-being and that he will not just fly, but soar to new heights in whatever endeavor he takes. Knowing him, we will not be disappointed.
P.S. Nice to have met you in person at the maiden NAB meet.

Just to keep us all focussed….Sheih is not employed by PAS to play politics. He is there to help build up Kelantan…a “Think Thank” Dept…headed by him. For what’s worth….Shieh will not sell his vote or soul for money. He made that clear to PAS and his boss accepted his rights to vote whoever he wants…..maybe even against UMNO…but no one will force him too.
Yes he confirms he will continue blogging and meet me before leaving KL.
PAS…win or loose the coming election…Sheih will be employed for years by PAS.

Yup… let’s just hope sheih will still maintain his integrity and keikhlasan. Remind sheih what keikhlasan means because for some people, when accepting bribe, they would say this to you, “ini ikhlas , ye?” And the giver will say, “ya tuan, saya ikhlas…” Yeah, right…

Briberies….are you kidding? Sheihs future does not need more than his salary…as he values his wife and children’s reputation more than ill gotten money. That’s not his character. I hope you are joking….but if customers wants to bibe all of us………which I call tips..take them lah…that’s acceptable as tourists guides….sometimes huge amount when added in the whole month!!
I know a Senior Cambridge guy gave up nice job to be hotel front door … man opening car doors for cisitors. He is paid low salary…..but his tips is three times more than the salary and he bought few houses out to collect rent. Do you call that briberies? I said rewards from happy customers…hahahahaha

Wow. My first thought was that this must be some kind of april’s fool joke!
Seriously, I’m more than a little surprised – positively so- to learn that Sheih has been offered this position. But most of all, I’m really happy for him, for Kelantan and for Malysia, where, after all, it is possible for a blogger of Sheih’s caliber to get this kind off position. I have written it before, and I will write it again: It sure is a strange and wonderful country.
extra commenter….Is it selling insurance? The way you put it out….sure sound like selling a piece of paper for money…and you know what? …it is the most beneficial and proftable and noble business to do without any capital investments…just your time and efforts.
Salesmen has to be equipped with the highest proffessional attitudes and knowledge to succeed. I train salesmen by giving the successful stories of insurance sales people all my life.
