A plea from Elizabeth Wong, State Assemblyman, Bukit Lanjan and Selangor State Executive Councilor” in a press statement today:
It has been exactly a year and 2 months since I returned to work with the Selangor state government after taking leave last year. It was the hardest decision I had to make then, and it has not become
easier as time goes by.
But I have made a decision then to continue to serve my constituents, my state and country, and to send a message to all victims of criminal intimidation to stand firm and not retreat into silence.
It comes as no surprise that Barisan Nasional continues to subject me to political violence by assaulting and violating my personal life, by continuously victimizing victims.
While Bayan Baru and his team were wallowing in gutter politics yesterday, I was proposing in the Selangor State Exco meeting to address a critical national issue, of outstanding students, regardless creed and ethnicity, needing our help to further their education.
This is why I returned to office, to show Pakatan Rakyat policies and politics are for a better Malaysia.
Menteri Besar of Selangor YAB Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and President of Parti KeADILan Rakyat Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail have supported me from the very instance this
I call upon the people to reject discrimination and prejudice against women victims.
