Aidil Adha or Hari Raya Korban is the Festival of Sacrifice for Muslims world wide. It shows the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.

I wish all my Muslims friends and family Selamat Hari Raya. May Allah bless you in peace and love. Happy holidays as well 🙂

What can we now bring as suitable sacrifice
When there’s more blood red than white rice
When innocent people have paid a high price
How then can we dare claim any heavenly prize

There is a differnce between ‘sacrifice ‘ and ‘great sacrifice’ just like there is a difference between kindness and great kindness. Everyone can be kind at one time or another but they chose when , why , who , where , and how to be kind while those with great kindness are always kind without condition for kindness is them and them is kindness.

After this festival of sacrifice, will you start practising sacrifice or great sacrifice. At the present scenario in this Bodoh Land your gusess is as good as mine.

  19. ridzwan says:

Coming back to the modern day history, the five people who died in the December 6th, 2008 actually “had been sacrificed (terkorban)”. They died in vain. Their death was unnecessary. They had been sacrificed by the Government who hide information from the people. In reality, if it had not been for the long weekend preceding Raya Haji, the death toll could have easily been 100. Many would not agree with me that the government is responsible for the sacrificial of five souls.

  20. ridzwan says:

“6. The residents of Bukit Antarabangsa largely do not know that they are living in the hills of death. We don’t know the actual risk that we face. The government knows. They spent RM6.5 million to do the Ampang Hulu Klang Landslide Risk study. Now the report is being kept in a strong room and labeled as “RAHSIA”. They don’t want us to know. It is like they want to sacrifice more people in this hills where we lived.”

  21. kittykat46 says:

OSA is used to protect the guilty.
Now we know the purpose of the “RAHSIA” status on the Bukit Antarabangs report.
After all, there are no National Defense secrets involved, there are no communists or terrorists around etc…

“Just like a blind man who does not know of what he does not see. How can Kit Siang talk of the BTN course when he has never attended it?” Noh said.

To help shed light on the content of BTN’s courses, Khalid said: “Former participants, lecturers and others will be invited to share their experiences.”

“I expect the Federal government to try to ban the forum as being contrary to the Official Secrets Act (OSA) and then people will know they have something to hide,” said Khalid.

  23. davis says:

Kittykat, it is not a question of National Defense secrets nor communists. It is about incompetent and irresponsible personal sitting in organisations which approve the projects. They are relatives. They have to be protected. Hence “Rahsia” is used. If I am not mistaken in UK all documents are automatically declassified after 30 years.

  24. notnajib says:

    Heads must roll:

BTN was instilling racial disharmony by spreading racist ideas like the ketuanan Melayu (Malay supremacy).

He said the racist courses were against the 1Malaysia concept propounded by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and added that the Chief Secretary to the Government has been instructed to oversee BTN’s revamp.

But Lim said it would be difficult to trust the sincerity of the decision when many top Umno ministers and leaders, including Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin and Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein have denied any wrongdoing and continued to defend BTN.

  25. notnajib says:

Meanwhile, Bukit Bendera MP Liew Chin Tong who was also present at the press conference revealed that the Federal Budget for BTN this year was RM 74 million.

Parliament expenses, in comparison, only received RM 70 million allocation for the same year.

Liew said that it was better to spend taxpayers’ money on strengthening parliamentary democracy rather than on BTN which has been found to be “instigating racial hatred” and “partisan activities.”

  26. notnajib says:

Despite news today that the Cabinet had decided to revamp BTN, several senior Umno ministers spent the weekend defending the courses and denying that it was racist in nature. Among them were Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and Wanita chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.

what Susan described about radio and Japanese occupation is true. In fact among the first things that they did was to confiscate all radios when they took over Malaya and s’pore. Owing one became a capital punishment and those caught were usually summarily executed by public beheading. In Susan’s grandfather’s case, perhaps they didn’t find the radio. My dad and uncle secretly listened to it in some secret location and learnt of the Japanese defeat at the Battle of Midway in middle of ’42, when the tide of the War turned. It kept their morale alive in those dark and suffering days.

Looking at how poorly Maxis stock price performs since it’s relisting in the local stock market, those who didn’t get it through the supposingly transparent IPO balloting and was sulking can now grin from ear to ear (didn’t I tell you so? *grin*). The stock didn’t get to touch RM6.00 a share (as I expected because at RM6.00 the stock would be trading at a whopping EPS of 20 times) and fortunately retailers didn’t chase the stock. As I’ve mentioned earlier the local stock market is probably already at its peak but most importantly Maxis is now a different animal. Faced with saturation in mobile telecommunication sector, investors need more than marketing talk to be convinced that it’s worth throwing more money investing the stock.

You may already know about this by now but the fact was retailers who applied for Maxis IPO via ATMs (automated teller machines) other than CIMB’s ATMs had pathetic low percentage of securing the shares. Hence if you wish to talk about transparency (in balloting) maybe this is a simple area to start investigating why the special preferences to CIMB, the banking company owned by none other than PM Najib’s brother which happened to be the main underwriter of Maxis IPO exercise.

  44. nasibubur says:

KUALA LUMPUR – “Umno is rotten to the core.” These words were allegedly uttered to Dr Mahathir Mohamad by a former senior leader who is disillusioned with the party and plans to jump ship to PAS.

The former prime minister wrote in his blog that according to the veteran politician Umno is rotten “from its lowest level to the highest.”
The politician further told Mahathir: “What’s left are remnants of people with self-interest who still hope of being rewarded for supporting Umno. They are not nationalists and cannot be trusted.”

Mahathir said the former leader gave him many reasons why he thought Umno will no longer be given the chance to rule his beloved country.
“I will not say more. What I want to say is this; his views are being spread acoss the Malay community and among Umno members,” the ex-Umno president added.
In his blog dated Nov 30, Mahathir wrote while the next general election is due in about two years, he has been observing the reaction of the people to the new leadership in Umno.
“I am shocked. I am shocked that a former senior Umno leader has chosen to say that ‘Umno is rotten to the core.’

    Plea to oversee Malaysian election
    December 3, 2009

MALAYSIA’S opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim, has called on Australia to send observers to ensure the next election is free and fair.

”Last time we actually did well, so this time around we will call on countries – including Australia – to send an independent team. Don’t talk about democracy if you deny this and say nice things to please dictators and authoritarian leaders.”

During a visit last year, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd praised Malaysia as ”vibrant” and a ”flourishing” democracy in spite of vote-rigging allegations and corruption.

Mr Anwar said Mr Rudd was wrong, but that the comments were likely to have been intended as a diplomatic gesture.
