Got this in the email from Jed Yoong:

Susan, If you would carry this. . I’ve deleted all my blogs (jedyoong.com/jedyoong.wordpress.com/jedyoong.blogspot.com). I don’t plan to blog in the forseeable future and will concentrating on my law degree. Although recent events like in Perak and the Altantuya trial have made me lose faith in our judiciary, I still believe in the English legal system if it functions properly. Hope you can put a small note so there won’t be a panic in blogosphere. Not that there will be but just to let ppl know that I’ve not been ISAed/etc…

It’s quite shocking to me too. Jed blogs with some kind of zest despite all the criticisms hurled at her. Will you miss her? I think I might…

Goodbye, Jed. Stay safe.

Too many LLB around already, ler. Too little attempts around here to make the law serve real justice.

Maybe she should study psychology – that way she’ll also be able to understand herself better too.

Anyway she was good before becoming inconsistant, unnecessarily abstract and bewildering. yes, of course, she has been meanly persecuted by the System.

    Good luck, Jed!

Once I read in Rocky’s Bru Blog a commentator Free Lunch or something announced that he/she is leaving cyberspace. I was thinking ‘Wah so vain…such grandiosity.’ Then I got to know her as Jed Y. Jed, you are disillussiond with the Fakatan as you said in Kt’s blog.
    Welcome to the real world.

  21. wits0 says:

Mad cow, so you think Jed is now for your horde after being unmistakably persecuted by your “real” world’s oppressors?

  23. whispering9 says:

….nay wits0, hers is hardly called ‘unmistakably persecuted.’ She is the real world thing…..II, don’t worry about her allegiance. She might make a good lawyer after all.

  24. wits0 says:

Jed could learn to understand that sometimes what others think is important too ; not that she should let them unnecessarily influence her position when and if it is soundly based. Instead of brusquely rejecting criticism she could learn to have a penetrating view about them and glean some insights from them.

  25. Ken says:

    Hey Susan,

  26. Eric says:

Jed Yoong, though I seldom agreed with you, you have your principled ground. Hope to see you again in Cyberspace.

    @Gua Bay Song Says:
“I hope you learned from this episode. You do not live in a vacuum.” What exactly do you mean? Translating blogs written in Malay is haram, is it? We should refrain from expressing ourselves, is it?

    @Idzan Ismail
Jed indeed said she was disillusioned with Pakatan. She also demonstrated she thinks BN are a happy bunch of thugs, what with the Judiciary, EC and PRDM acting as BN components. At least she has not sold herself to one side, unlike you I guess.

His testimony was as inaccurate as ever. He repeated many of the errors identified by the High Court in the UK. He appeared ill at ease and very tired – perhaps reflecting on the Rasmussen poll that shows a massive 13.5% swing against the bedwetters’ point of view in just one year.”

Anybody, know what ‘fakatans’ are? I think it’s a new species of rambutans (hairy fruits) which are poisonous to Idzans of the world.

  42. creeps says:

Tabood Idzan is allergic to the word Pakatan so calls it Fakatan.
This is is generally the case with Arabs who do not have the letter P in the vocabulary and is pronounced F e.g. Paris would be Faris

Speaking of Arabs apparently they used to push date seeds up the female camel to prevent its pregnancy during long journeys across the sands. Gives a very different meaning to – planting the seed.

  43. Menyalak-er says:

Yo Creeps, is that why the rambutan seed is sprouting thereabouts in Idzan? That would account for its insanity… Btw, what kind of camel – Bactrian or Dromedry? It may be Bactrian (2 humps) ‘cos she rather fond of Talibans.

Arab Royal of UAE tortures victim

A video tape smuggled out of the United Arab Emirates shows a member of the country’s royal family mercilessly torturing a man with whips, electric cattle prods and wooden planks with protruding nails.

A man in a UAE police uniform is seen on the tape tying the victim’s arms and legs, and later holding him down as the Sheikh pours salt on the man’s wounds and then drives over him with his Mercedes SUV.

In a statement to ABC News, the UAE Ministry of the Interior said it had reviewed the tape and acknowledged the involvement of Sheikh Issa bin Zayed al Nahyan, brother of the country’s crown prince, Sheikh Mohammed.

“The incidents depicted in the video tapes were not part of a pattern of behavior,” the Interior Ministry’s statement declared.

The Minister of the Interior is also one of Sheikh Issa’s brother.

The government statement said its review found “all rules, policies and procedures were followed correctly by the Police Department.”

A police report has been lodged at the police station here by an NGO called Coalition Against Low-quality NGOs (CALN). Its president, Mr. Naji Abdull bin Mahat, alleged in the report that the NGOs concerned have been lodging unnecessary and potentially false police reports, at the expense of the nation’s interests……

Top on the list of the NGOs complained by Naji is Gagasan Melayu Perak (GMP), which lodged a police report by mistake when it alleged that Malaysiakini had published a report that was insulting the Perak Sultan. It turned out that the said article never appeared on Malaysiakini but on two other sites, Malaysian Insider and Malaysia Today. Naji told reporters at the police station that such grave mistake by GMP indicated a very malicious hidden agenda on the part of GMP to lodge the report. Naji said, “If you can’t even tell Malaysiakini from Malaysia Today, it means you probably have not even run a browser in your whole life. So what have you to complain about?”

Earth Day predictions of 1970. The reason you shouldn’t believe Earth Day predictions of 2009.

Need proof? Here are some of the hilarious, spectacularly wrong predictions made on the occasion of Earth Day 1970.

“We have about five more years at the outside to do something.”
    • Kenneth Watt, ecologist

“Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.”
    • George Wald, Harvard Biologist

“We are in an environmental crisis which threatens the survival of this nation, and of the world as a suitable place of human habitation.”
    • Barry Commoner, Washington University biologist

  50. nutters says:

Keep these predictions in mind when you hear the same predictions made today. They’ve been making the same predictions for 39 years. And they’re going to continue making them until…well…forever.

Here we are, 39 years later and the economy sucks, but the ecology’s fine. In fact this planet is doing a lot better than the planet on which those green lunatics live.

    Uthaya’s Letter, a Sunday gift

An open letter by Uthayakumar was published by Malaysiakini early today morning. Man, this guy still has strong will and fighting the struggle for full freedom, not only for him, but for all those marginalised under Barisan’s hegemony rule.

“Today, I have grown 500 days older. Today, I have lost 500 days of my precious freedom. Today, it is 500 days since I shaved my beard or combed my hair to protest my ISA detention. Today, it is 500 days since I have been made to wear the very same two pairs of dark blue baggy pants and white restaurant waiter-like prison uniform. ” – Uthaya.

Sir, you forgot to mention this. Its also the 500th day Malaysians woke up, got out of the artificial, false sense of security and equality projected and implanted by UMNO. We all have become 500days more wiser and more matured. The Malaysian Indians are now the most political and social-conscious community in Malaysia. They have, together with the Malays, Chinese, Dayaks,Kadazans and all, who makes the majority of Malaysian people, lead the change for the survivality of the nation. We have come out of the closet sir.

BTW, I thought it was English class.

    @Idzan Ismail
“I was not bought to support BN.
It’s already ingrained in me because I know who and what I am.”
I will take your word for it, but except for you, I still believe the main (only?) reasons to support BN are:
    1) you believe the tax-sponsored (state media) or terror-inspired (private media) propaganda, this category is decreasing fast with new media growing and old media sounding more and more irrelevant.
    2) you are forced to (crony or civil servant, especially Undi Pos).
I hope to be shown wrong.

“I do not want to be fashinonable just to be opposing.”
Funny you say that, in this country I find people actively supporting the federal government tending to be very rich and people opposing it very poor (bankrupt et al). I do not know about fashionable though.

“Please read KTemo’s earlier blog where Jed was very explicit in saying why she hates Fakatan now.”
Well I do not need to find Jed in KT’s blog to know about she’s no Pakatan supporter, Jed made this very clear in her blog as early as Ijok actually.

    Bros and Sisters!

Let’s do a poll. Click agree or disagree to a boycott of ALL Mama*(not Hindu) stalls and businesses.

The innocent mama*s will have to be the so-called collateral damage. If they value their our patronage, they themselves will have to pressure and bring their BN-mamaks in line.

Once we click ‘agree’, we will have to take this as a promise to our dear RPK and ourselves here that we will fully spread the word immediately to all our families and friends. Tell them about the Penang incidents too! This boycott will not end until and unless these two beasts apologise to Malaysia-Today, okay? Never mind if they don’t; we just continue, we lose nothing.

The boycott starts immediately. Do you agree???

For those critics of her, yeah yeah named her whatever you like but please for god sake she’s doing something which is GOOD for herself why can’t you all just give your regards and wishes to her instead of hounding her like she better off from the faces of the earth.. It’s her opinion in her own blogs (spell it correctly B.L.O.G) but that does not reflect who she is, maybe she wasn’t that BAD afterall, just that her stances might be biased but at least she stands up and speak about it not like everyone else who just gone KOW-TOWYING to the all mighty GREAT MESSIAH and Co, DAP supremos (those untouchables), MCA clubs + WCW, UMNO goonies or MIC Sivajis (yeah she did bashes them good).. But her affections for a few UMNOputras (namely Toyol) and her admiral for Mamakutty (she liked Mamaks REGIME, funny) did sick me a little..

But I did get enligthened about PAS by her (she’s the person who sparked my interest in PAS, wasn’t it weird all of a sudden a chinese female blogger like PAS’s Husam Musa soo much).. It gives me a different perspective on the way PAS used to be.
