I’m taking a break guys, for 2 days at least, from this blog. So enjoy this music from Bjork, which is also titled “state of emergency”. But you’ll get a different feeling listening to it. Don’t worry about me, I am not stranded and I am okay.

The state of emergency has disrupted everyone’s programs. Many of our participants (attending various programs/events – from all over Asia and beyond – are stranded in the city. And arrangements need to be made.

Malaysians on holiday here may find a breather that the Malaysian embassy in Bangkok is arranging a special military flight to carry stranded Malaysians back home.

The embassy has opened a round-the-clock operations room. The numbers to contacted are (+66) 2629 6808 or (+66) 2629 6800 ext. 4106.

For those flying MAS can get more information here: Go to Utapao Airport near Pattaya. MAS will bring you home.

It is safer to take MAS rather than military aircraft, so I suggest everyone move to Utapoa. Surely must and the gomen can offer the seat ?
    Have fun in Bangkok!!!

    Susan, take care.

I have a feeling the crisis in Thailand will come to a head, one way or another in a week or two. It won’t affect ordinary people much, but there’s always a risk of being caught in the cross-fire (literarily).

A lot of insurance company fine print doesn’t cover you if you fly in a military plane, so MAS from Utapao is probably a better bet for those who can make it. A C-130 Hercules ride ranks as one of the more uncomfortable flights around, believe me !

Utapao ! The name brings back stories of the Vietnam war. The Americans operated B-52s and F-4 Phantoms out of the airbase. Its since been turned into a civilian general aviation aiport, but can’t escape its history.
