get an alternative system of Grand Jury Indictment and differentiate between criminal acts against terrorist acts.

there MAY BE no such thing as “political acts” meaning you don’t put your political opponents into jail for their NON-VIOLENT beliefs.

30 or so Malaysians selected from the electoral rolls should be sufficient to sit down and put Crimininals , Terrorists and Violent-Racist-Hatred-Inciters-Politicians into somekind of “hotel”.

no arbitrary detention at the whims and fancies of a Minister, IGP or AG.

The simple truth is that no one yes no one gets arrested under ISA if he or she behaves in such manner as the so-called anti-ISA vigil which is nothing but a political ruse of the opposition!!!!

South Africa too used to be just like Malaysia and at one time Malaysians were banned from travelling to South Africa (plus to Israel, China, Russia, North Korea, North Vietnam, etc.). Today, South Africa no longer has an Internal Security Act and instead has a Bill of Rights. Apartheid ended in South Africa a long time ago and there is no longer any racial discrimination in that country. Lawyers from South Africa, in fact, look down on Malaysia’s laws and judicial system. Is that not an irony of sorts?

The last few months since the recent general election have seen racism on the increase. Barisan Nasional appears totally blur that it did badly in the 8 March 2008 general election because of its racist policy. Instead of toning down racism it is stepping up the race rhetoric. It has not learnt from the election beating that it received at the hands of the voters, 50% who voted for the opposition parties.

Call it what you want, Ketuanan Melayu is racism just like Apartheid.

The ISA provision is the strongest deterrent the nation against mass demonstrations that can result in havoc and anarchy. Thus, it should remain at all cost for the good of the nation.

  8. ventura says:

What is “racism”? From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia; Racism, by its simplest definition, is the belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial difference produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. According to the United Nations conventions, there is no distinction between the term racial discrimination and ethnic discrimination.

From the simple notion on the above, we can derived that there is a race in that racial gap that thus produce the distinction different in the inherent superiority term of the most believe as in wealth and possession. The most shouted application of it lie in the hardworking and laziness of and ethnic individual thus conform to the whole socialization behavior that hence produce the whole characteristic traits of that anthropology community.

So if a particular ethnic group want to excel with the most simple application of more hardworking, better educated, illiterate, computer savvy, business affluence, ability to have a far sight planning, risk taker and others capability skills and talent arrive to improvise survival of this world. Should that particular “independence” race slow it race as to wait for the “unindependence” ethnic to walk step to step to the end of the race walk?

I remember a story of a Father which have a three sons; he said to them “Sons I give each one a syiling and at the end of a year, you all brings back the syiling and see how much you can do with it”. So the story goes that one son goes dig a hold and bury the coin and at a year end he just dug up the coin and shows it to his father. “I still have the coin that you give me”. The Father was not pleased but just stares in silence. For the second son the thought that he can produce more money and because of greed began to take the coin and place it at the gambling den. Unfortunately he lost everything at the year end and has nothing to redeem to his Father. But the last son began to learn up skills and practice talent in business and began to invest the coin in food business at the end of that year he bring back hundred folds of what his father has given him. The Father was pleased and happy with these son talents that can multiple the coins into riches.

The moral of the story is that in order to eliminate “racism” the other ethnicity must able to run the race and meet at the similar par of understanding and be proud at the end of the day over what they can able to bring back to their Father. A hundred folds of riches endurance and ensure the survival of it generation and heir. Similar another “independence” ethnicity privileges will not be abuse and discriminated if the other “unindependence” race are able to develop their talents and skills in the multiplication effort thru their own hands and will as to ensure consistency of their survival of the fittest.

Therefore “Bangsa Malaysia” is the only supremacy that equality of the race running at the same plank and same understanding that survival of one race is base on their own works rather than just a mere privileges and rights. This is amountable to taking out hand asking for a food rather than preparing for a food to ourselves. Oh how long will the “other ethnicity” continue fishing when they can learn to be a fisherman themselves?

So in the end will we want to look to the fisherman for fish or do we really want to be a fisherman ourselves? The question lies with our socialization behavior and characteristic trait of our anthropology community.

One must ponder? What is “the socialization behavior and characteristic trait?”

For example, Pempena advanced RM300,000 to one Umi Hafilda (does the name ring a bell?) for a Amir Diab Live in Kuala Lumpur concert. The report says that “Pempena did not even sight the contract between the parties before issuing the cheque” and as expected, the concert did not take place.

The first question to ask is: Why is Pempena paying show promoters? The second question is: How does a concert help promote tourism? Perhaps, they took a leaf out of the Sport Ministry which paid RM17 million for the Champions Youth Cup tournament to “promote tourism” last year. We’ll leave that to rest, at least for the moment.

Back to Umi Hafilda. When the concert did not materialise, she issued three cheques to Pempena – all of them bounced – there was no money in her account. What did Pempena do? Sat with arms folded because those in the know were aware that she was an undischarged bankrupt, one of the report states.

For that, zombies and lemmings also can do the same, why have human beings who are designed to pursue betterment on the way towards perfection(in a manner speaking)?

“Ordinary man on the street are not bothered about ISA, judiciary reforms etc.”

‘First they came for the Jews….’, we have heard this before and understood well the meaningfulness therein. In a democracy, even a middling one, participatory concern keeps it alive and vibrant. 50+ years of indoctrination has created its own coterie of smug apologists in Bodohland.

“Demos are for pseudo libertarians like Susan who sit on a comfy chair fanning hatred.”

For that you’ll need Utusan, e.g. : http://tinyurl.com/5qmpvu and your continued support.

That specially permitted hate publication is one example of what’s screwed up big time here and the projection of slander and evil has become acceptable, by example. Minions naturally do the same.

Is BN now supporting terrorism? But this was the stand that they were against all along. They equated Hindraf as having links with the LTTE and therefore of being a terrorist group. But now they are gathering in front of the high commision of Sri Lanka to support LTTE’s cause ?

    Seems strange.

How could such an embarrasing incident been allowed by Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar? He has clearly announced that LTTE is the terrorist group that Hindraf has links to and this statement was supported by the IGP, Musa Hassan.

  31. Vikraman says:

    Dear Fair to all,

In my short life, I have travelled a fair bit. I have travelled to many democratic, pseudo-democratic and downright fascist nations. Here is a narration of a short experience for you.

    November 2007.

I am standing at a street corner between Hyde Park and Harrods in London. It’s a normal wintry Sunday. Today was a bit warmer than others though. People milled around doing shopping, meeting friends, living their life as usual. After a while a few policemen showed up and blocked two roads closing off the street in front of Harrods that leads on to Hyde Park. In a few moments, I hear loud chants in Urdu and a few thousand British Citizens of Pakistani descent march through the street flailing themselves with a small whip. Today is a day of mourning in Pakistani tradition it seems and these men were allowed by the Metro Police to stop traffic along three key roads which are the heart of commerce in London and conduct a full two hour march from Eastham to Hyde Park. They carried flags and other paraphenalia and were followed by two (yes only two) journalists. There were a few policemen around to control traffic but the total police presence for the entire crowd was around 10. They carried no guns as well. Only batons. I ask my friend, does this happen often? He tells me every year on this day, this happens. It’s been going on for twenty odd years. He doesn’t know what their mourning about and he doesn’t really care.

The next day I walk up to Westminster. Parliament is in session. Today they are debating about the government’s proposal to extend the period of detention without trial from 21 days to 42 days. (The detention is fully challengeable in a court of law unlike ISA). The Labour Party has a revolt on it’s hands and it’s MP’s have made a deal with the Opposition (The Tories) to reject the proposal. The bill loses it’s third reading 298-267 with 42 abstaining.

Outside Parliament hundreds of protestors wave placards and banners rejecting the proposal and everybody leaves in the evening happily.

I witnessed two demonstrations. 1 by a group of migrants who are commemorating their own cultural belief and 1 by a group of civil society bodies comprising all levels of British populace. Neither did any damage. Both were protected by the police. Everybody went home happy.

    Nuff’ said.

He might even inspire impressionable conversion to Hinduism! – like Dr. mahathir and Ali Rustam and Daim Zainuddin.

As if the above wasn’t bad enough, Shah Rukh Khan also practices Hindu customs in the movies and also outside the movies. Surely, this can potentially corrupt the minds! It has been alleged that Shah Rukh Khan actually has a temple in his house where his wife and family pray daily.
