8.22PM BKK time UPDATE 2:

The earlier site was blocked since 4.30pm, and Allan had to register a new site and transfer all the data to the new site. Your letters have caught the attention of you know who, and the host was forced to block the site. However, nothing will stop us campaigning for RPK. Thanks to Allan for the hard work.

This is the NEW URL: http://www.abolishisa.com/project1/abolishisa_login.php

Go on, don’t stop sending your letters. Click on all four SEND (Now!). Thank you!

UPDATE 1: Please click on all FOUR sections of SEND (Now!) if you are sending the letter to all the individuals listed below. Add your name on the designated column, too. TERIMA KASIH, sayang!

We have a BIRTHDAY GIFT for RPK, as he celebrates his 58th birthday today. No doubt he is in solitary confinement in Kamunting, thousands of us are in there with him as well!

The birthday gift goes like this …

A really good soul named Allan has designed a WEBSITE with an online protest for RPK and the other ISA detainees in Kamunting.

This OPEN LETTER  was drafted by the Abolish ISA Movement or GMI (Gerakan Mansuhkan ISA), and is a good open letter, where the message to release RPK and abolish ISA is damn clear.

All you have to do is type your name and select the name of the idiot politician you want to send your letter to, and then click on SEND (Now!). There is an option for RPK as well. Please click on all sections.

The letter is sent directly to their email boxes. And what’s more, the program calculates how many letters are sent out. So we can monitor the progress of the online protest.

This is a very peaceful protest and the plan is to flood the emails of the relevant idiots who had a hand in RPK’s arrest and subsequent delivery to Kamunting Detention camp.

Their names are on the website.

These are the guys who have ‘blood’ on their hands, as many others are in the camp, too, while we are yet to know whether they are guilty or not of the reasons why they are put in there in the first place.

Please advertise this action as much as you can.  I have sent letters to all of them, how about you?

  6. Joe Rakyat says:

Hi All, have you thought of the following: in the current configuration of the form, those receiving the emails can easily filter out the messages as the emails will be coming from a single server and IP address. All they have to do is mark the first email they get as spam, and the rest of the emails will be blocked or sent straight to the spam folder.

What Allan needs to do is to add an additional “FROM” email field that captures the email address of the sender. Each email the receiver gets will therefore come from a unique email address and will be much harder to block or filter out.

Alternatively, figure out a way to randomise the “FROM” email address everytime a message is sent. JR

  7. Joe Rakyat says:

Hi Susan, pls tell Allan that there’s an error in his form. Everytime the page is refreshed, the form automatically sends an email to the selected recipient’s email address, even when the sender’s name is not inputted.

Allan, use a serverside or javascript check to make sure that a name is inputted before the email is sent. If no name detected, give a message asking the user to input their name. JR

    Kok’s family home attacked
    Sep 27, 08 10:13am

Two Molotov cocktails were thrown into the family home of Seputeh member of parliament Teresa Kok in Kuala Lumpur early today.

However no one was hurt in the incident. Teresa’s parents are living in the house at Jalan Ipoh together with her siblings.

The family has lodged a police report.

Kok, a Selangor state exco member, will be holding a press conference this afternoon on the matter.

In recent days, Kok has come under fire from several quarters for her remarks on the low quality of food given to her while she was under a week-long Internal Security Act detention last week.

Kok was arrested under the ISA on Sept 12 for raising Islamic issues. She was released on Sept 19.

“Civil disobedience becomes a sacred duty when the state has become lawless or corrupt. And a citizen who barters with such a state shares in its corruption and lawlessness…Every citizen is responsible for every act of his government…There is only one sovereign remedy, namely,non-violent non-cooperation.”

“Coercion cannot but result in chaos in the end.”

“One who uses coercion is guilty of deliberate violence.”

    “Coercion is inhuman…”

“Non-cooperation with evil is as much a duty as cooperation with good…”

“All through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall, always.”

The fifth Prime Minister of Malaysia, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, went on the record in 1988 to state “If we want to save Malaysia and Umno, Dr Mahathir (then Prime Minister) must be removed. He uses draconian laws such as the Internal Security Act to silence his critics.” The year before, he had also stated “Laws such as the Internal Security Act have no place in modern Malaysia. It is a draconian and barbaric law.”

I love the idea of tshirts and yellow ribbons. I will be buying mine asap! I already bought the ribbon and am flying it from my car.

Definitely, wearing a Free RPK Tshirt to an Open House is even better than boycotting the Open House.

Maybe we’ll even get MSM coverage if the group is big enough.

I heard about a movement where you can get hundreds and thousands of strangers to do something at a designated location and time via viral sms/ facebook/ etc. They did it this year at The Pavilion when everyone suddenly froze at the concourse for 1 full minute or something. It was really cool. They got heaps of media coverage. Was anyone reading this blog a part of that cool and funny event? If so, how did you hear about it?

Maybe Free RPK/ Yellow Ribbon wearers can do that. Anyone know how to start something like that up. I hear that this has been done in many major cities around the world already to great effect.

It’s not a rally as no one even needs to say anything so the police can’t do anything. Just stand still for one full minute in a FREE RPK shirt and then go about your shopping as per normal. Completely peaceful, attention-grabbing and quirky enough to get bystanders curious. Have someone ready to take photos of the crowd so that they can be uploaded onto blogs like this.

Maybe there can even be a pre-choreographed pose – two hands in the air or showing the peace sign or something. Do it at a tourist spot so that tourists will know about our cause and probably even take pictures to show the guys back home.

You can even do this in Bangkok, Susan. Or anywhere in the world.

The power of synchornised behaviour is amazing. I was once standing in a Sydney street when four guys wearing the exact same outfit – Matrix-like Black Suit -walking in sync, acting in sync were walking in and out of the shops and restaurant not even looking at anyone else but busy with what they seemed to be doing which was chatting on a mobile phone. Every move was in sync between the four of them. It doesn’t even take hundreds of people
as this behaviour got the attention of everyone on the street. It was some kind of promo but it really stopped traffic. It remains in my head to this day and that was more than 10 years ago.

    What do you think?

Someone asked the Flip the comic about his religion.
    He answered, “I am a Jehovah’s Bystander.”

“A Jehovah’s Bystander?” remarked his friend. “I never heard of a
    Jehovah’s Bystander.”

Flip said, “Well, they asked me to be a witness, but I didn’t want to
    get involved.”

In these troubled times, I think Edmund Burke is right. “The only
thing necessary for the triumph of evil,” he says, “is for good men to
    do nothing.”

We can complain about injustices, we can lament the suffering of the
world and even feel sorry for the helpless plight of others. Or we can
do what we can, even if it’s only a little.

Theodore Roosevelt read a book by New York newspaperman Jacob Riis
titled HOW THE OTHER HALF LIVES. We often think of the “other half” as
living in luxury. The other half are those who are powdered and
pampered. The rich and famous. Movers and shakers.

But the book did not describe the wealthiest few of society. Instead
it described the slums of the city, with all its vice and crime.
Families living in poverty and fear – too afraid to leave their homes
after dark. The other half, said Riis, were the poor among us.

Theodore Roosevelt was moved to action. He went at once to the
newspaper office where the author worked, but Riis was not in.
Roosevelt left his card and wrote on it, “Have read your book and have
    come to help.”

He did not say, “Have read your book and have come to discuss.” Or,
“Have read your book and have come to compliment you on your writing.”
He said, “Have read your book and have come to help.”

“I am only one, but I am still one; I cannot do everything, but still
I can do something, and because I cannot do everything I will not
refuse to do the something that I can do.” Nineteenth century writer
    Edward Everett Hale said that.

    He speaks to me today.

I remember in 2004, one of my ex gf wanted me to sign a petition to be submitted to the Malaysian Government and UN Secretary-General, (the then)Kofi Annan to register Malaysians protest against “US War On Iraq”. I asked her, “when the US bypassed the UN Security Council, especially Russia’s veto against the US air-strike on Serbia on their massacre of the Croatians/ Bosnians, did they organized a similar signature campaign?”

She shouted “Itu America memang JAHAT dan menyebelahi itu Syaitan (referring to the Serbs). Mereka (the US) patut bunuh semua orang zalim Serbia. Itu America memang sokong orang Serbia”

hahahahahahhahahahaha. THis is Malaysia Boleh. When the Indonesians Chinese and the East Timorese (before liberated by B.J.
