While outgoing Kedah MCA Youth chief Datuk Boey Chin Gan wants four deputy prime ministers one each from among the Chinese, Indian, Sabah and Sarawak leaders, I would like about 10!
One that is chinese-malay mix, another indian-malay/muslim, what about sino+indian+sabahans and one more sino+indian+sarawakian.
You see it never ends. The list goes on….what about the eurasians, oh wait, the portugese, or aceh-malaysians, and thai-malaysians, for heaven sake!
If we start seeing everyone as Malaysians, from the very beginning, like 51 years ago, the race issue of any officials, the deputy prime minister, even prime minister, will never be an issue.
His or her capabilities would be what people would be interested in.
Instead, all we’re worried about now is what skin color he or she is. And we’re have not even started arguing why we could not and never had a woman prime or deputy prime minister?
By the way, skin colors do not even tell what race or ethnic group a person belongs to anymore.
And just because some is from a certain ethnic group, does not necessarily mean he or she could care less about the people from that group.
Not if they are greedy and self-centred, like the many, many examples we have around us!
