It’s 12.43am, and I have just come back from Permatang Pauh.

Today, I set aside my blogging duties to join thousands of people from the P44 constituency in their euphoria and victory. They have chosen and decided that Anwar Ibrahim become their member of Parliament.

Thus, setting him on a journey to “Putarjaya”.

This decision, which gave Anwar a whopping 17,000+++ majority over his opponent Arif Shah is a victory for a multi-racial Malaysia, just as it was in the March 8 Tsunami.

Thank you, people of Permatang Pauh.

Sorry, for no updates until now. As the results and other stories could be done much faster by some bloggers who have the facilities to blog live, and online news like Malaysiakini and Malaysia Today which did an excellent job by providing the latest news, I gave myself a break and celebrated the Permatang Pauh victory from ground zero.

I have lots of photos and videos to share of the time when the counting centre opened about 6pm to the moment the Election Commission declared victory for Anwar and the Permatang Pauh people.

So, stay tune…

Susan, thank you for your excellent coverage of the events up till your last update yesterday night. I’m so elated, but we must not be complacent with what a desperate wounded schoolyard bully like UMNO will do tomorrow.

I think it’s good to savor the moment with the locals! 🙂 It’s precious … thanks for the hard work throughout anyway!

Congrats to DSAI for the convincing triumphant victory of good over evil.

Thanks to all the supporters in PP who voted for DSAI, all the PR helpers and the bloggers – too many to mention – for the detailed monitoring and reporting of the by-election.

The people in PP once again have spoken loudly through the ballot. They do not appreciate arrogant, greedy, corrupt, racialistic, unjust and dirty politicians. If the cap fits, they should know what to do.

The battle has just begun. The days ahead are even more challenging. Let us firmly maintain our resolve and continue to render our whole-hearted support to the PR coalition which shall replace BN one day in the near future.

Let us now hit the bed, sleep calmly and wake up and rejoice.

    Viva la Pakatan Rakyat.

alhamdullilah may Allah bless the people of Permatang Pauh forever… Now is the time… Lets stand and fight this corrupt goverment,,, Perhaps now they will learn its the goverment that should be afraid of the people and not the people of the goverment. 1 more thing guys…Noticed 1 thing today… So many people were wearing DSAI mask today as support… its like from the movie V for Vendetta where every 1 wears the heroes mask to protest against the goverment….Eventually the people won in the movie… Hope its A for Apocalypse… apocalypse against BN…. 🙂 Lets win this people!!!!!!!!!!!!

update quickly…I’m waiting the whole night to see the updates…congratz Pakatar Rakyat for the victory!

  7. Skeptic says:

The judiciary will once again be under the gun to ‘manufacture’ an ‘amno verdict’ in the forthcoming chodomi trial, to ensure that the DSAI resurrection is decimated. Or will this recent event cascade into political reforms long desired by many?

  8. wandererAUS says:

Thank you madame susan, you were simply wonderful!

“I could have dance all night,” what a great piece of news that Anwar was returned with a bigger majority…MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
It is the beginning of the end of this evil regime. We won the battle and now, we must win the war.

  9. abdullah says:

I was following the point to point result. The total majority differs from the official result. I think soon we will know the real exact number. It is a message sent to the government. I think the government just ignore the last election’s message, continueing with the attempt to use it’s power to enmity the people using the police, ACA, court etc to scare the rakyat and to selective persecution and fabricating evidience. I saw Albar, Najib, the police never change. One of the last statement by Albar was condeming the distribution of medical report in Pmtg Pauh when it is still in court, forgetting the whole election episode was saying Anwar was guilty of sodomy. Now the ACA is taking the fight for the government. Let them learn some history of jews and Nazi, and Saddam Hussein’s police. The government seems to be poor in mathematical calculation or refuse to compute it’s future and it’s effect. 4 years is a short time, very short time.

Let us observe their behaviors; the ACA, the police, the judiciary, the election Commision etc. Note down the officers behaviour. We hope they will be wise enough to learn some history.

Ms, Sloone, we have an UNFINISHED business of the Altantuya Muder case.

You started it and I always encouarged yuo to keep it up.

This we must do. All the cars have left the sides of the Butterworth -Kulim Highway as I plodded to go to my car having taken a ride from a good samaritan on his bike.

Dr Badrul Amin & the congregation has beseeched God AllMighty to curse Musa Hassan, Gani Patail, Saiful and Najib [according to Utusan Malaysia].

    Let’s be patient.

  17. the rakyat voice says:

Thanks slooney for all your dedication for your audience. It’s a fantastic hard work well done. we appreciate it very much!

Guess it’s time for Bodowi to pack and go NOW.

The people had entrusted their aspirations to Bodowi in the 11th GE, but alas, Bodowi had squandered that opportunity to be a hero for the 28 millions Rakyat of Bolehland.

Once Bodowi you had betrayed the Rakyat, you are just a nuisance now to the Rakyat.

To be a PM of Bolehland is no kidding. Just imagine the 28 millions of Bolehland’s lives are in his hands. But you treated the 28 million lives lightly playing the divisive racial and religious issues with fires which are detrimental to the existence of of Bolehland.

There will be no second opportunity for you ala personal aspirations. This is a national issue. Bodowi you should take your job seriously from day 1 when you assumed the premiership of Bolehland.

Now that Bodowi you are just unfit to be the commander in chief of Bolehland, do not, please do not further risking the 28 millions of lives further.

Just pack and go and let Dsai assumes the premiership of Bolehland bringing Bolehland to a harmonious, peaceful and prosperous nation with a bright future- for us and our children.

  18. the rakyat voice says:

The people of Permatang Pauh have spoken. Go Bodowi before Bolehland becomes a totally failed, ruinned and incurable state.

Sayonara, Bodowi, thanks but no thanks for all your blunders, greed and parochial management of Bolehland for the past 6 years.

The Rakyat have had enough of your inept rule zzzzzzz while on the job. All the slogans and rhetorics can’t make Bolehland a strong nation now.

Please, Bodowi, for the sake of the 28 millions lives in Bolehland, just pack and go the next day.

There won’t be a new dawn with you at the helm of Bolehland but disasters after disasters….

The Rakyat of Bolehland want a multi racial premier who is hardworking, diligent, impartial, righteous, follow the rule of law diligently, practicing meritocracy, human rights, following the Constitution of Bolehland and the United Nations Universal Declaration closely, people friendly, who cares and loves the Rakyat of Bolehland with all his mind, love and soul….

Adios Bodowi, it’s better for you to leave now than later, for the sake of the 28 millions Rakyat of Bolehland.

All the best Bodowi in your future endeavors……..

  19. Jimmy Page says:

15,000 majority, thank you Najib, for making sure Anwar won and with a bigger majority too !! You are the biggest fool in Malaysia and are personally responsible for all of Umno’s and Barisan’s defeats. Yet you want to be the next Prime Minister. And Umno is stupid enough to let you try. Good bye Badawi and get lost Najib, your own party will stab you in the back in the Party Elections later this year. You should book your tickets to Mekah now, and swear on the Quran that your wife is not a murderer.
They will not believe you, but they will take your money gladly, you fat coward.

  20. midnight_only says:

Congratulation DSIA….. still a long way to go. They failed Plan A, come Plan B, C and so on. Anyway good lucks to you and family.

  21. Jimmy Page says:

Hishamuddin is the happiest guy in Malaysia right now, happier than even Anwar, Lim Kit Siang and Karpal Singh. Prepare for the rise of another son of a Prime Minister.
Hishamuddin vs Anwar, kind of has nice ring to it, don’t you think? Maybe I should write a song- Prime Minister’s Son- title already got.

  22. artemus22 says:

Two thumbs up to the voters of Permatang Pauh! We are proud of you for you are the TRUE HEROES of the nation and the country. Syabas dan tahniah, Permatang Pauh!

  26. Isa X says:

    What will they do next?
This is what Pandikar Amin said, as reported in The Star today:
“I do not see any urgency for me to fix a quick date. For all you
know, the newly elected MP may want to go for a holiday first,
or even for an umrah before coming to the Dewan Rakyat,” he
    said yesterday.
This isn’t a BN/UMNO candidate, what Umrah what holiday is it the same – a`uzhoo billah!
Like the late Dt. Mazlan visiting Umrah while soliciting the aid and giving thanks to deviants under the Devil’s charm.

Go to hell! Zoo Keeper, Open the doors of the Dewan Encik Pandikar Amin and stop using phony excuses. You Shameless monafik.

Stop insulting our nation’s intelligence and institutions. Let us urge our KING to step in now. Swear DSAI in at the His Majesty’s Royal residence this is enough.

  27. ttc says:

Bravo! to Susan Loone too for your excellent coverage of this historic by-election so…..many thanks!

  29. Hi everyone!
This is one of the sweetest moments of my life.
DSAI has won. The people have won.
Thank You to all supporters of PR in Permatang Pauh.
But an anyone tell me what ‘Permatang Pauh’ means? They truely are matured in their thinking and politics now.
Seldom we get to hear the oppositions win in By-elections in this Bolehland.
But the people in PP have shown otherwise. Wise thinking, wise judgment.
So, now what do you guys in Sabah and Sarawak think?
    Still sleeping my dear friends?

  30. kittykat46 says:

Thank you so much for your posts. You have done a great job !
I was there at the counting centre at MPTB, too. I must admit the sheer size of the crowd kind of scared me a bit.

After the result was announced, it was like Merdeka day had come a week early.

This morning, I finally decided to fly the Malaysian flag in front of my home. There is hope yet for Malaysia’s future…..

But a word of caution…be careful out there, folks…UMNO will do Anything, I mean ANYTHING to stay in power.

  32. Jimmy Page says:

Cyberboy, they should have spent the 300 putting in petrol to drive to golok and move to Thailand. Their time is over, better use it wisely, or they can fly Air Asia to Brunei.
Those guys will always take care of their people. 300 bucks this year no need to buy kambing to sembelih. Now they know what it feels like to be sacrificed.

  33. Anne says:

You wrote “Thus, setting him on a journey to “Putarjaya”.”

    Was “Putarjaya” intentional? : )

  34. Jimmy Page says:

Antares, cheers man, but don’t let the Pas door hit you on the way out.
Now the real story begins. You gonna trust them with your freedom?
Out of the frying pan into the fire? Lucky for you alcohol and gambling
is not even a tiny part of your personal life. But let me ask you, what if
Chinese and Indians are not allowed to live life as they have for decades?
Do you think gambling and alcohol will disappear? Ever heard of prohibition?
For a disciple of Frank Zappa you sound almost like a communist or an Iranian theologian. Or has middle age age mellowed you somewhat? Where have your
libertarian tendencies gone? What has become of Whitman and Hunter S Thompson?

  37. Jimmy Page says:

Bamboo River, please tell me you are talking about Badawi or Najib? Please let it be Najib. Did you see my post in another thread of Susan’s? Meeting time!

  38. Cheers to the good people of PP for not being taken in by all the lies and deception. What do you say now, TV3, Utusan M’sia & the rest of you propaganda machines? People power have rendered you useless….

  39. jeevanathan says:

  40. bamboo river says:

I am talking about the third one who is unemployed.
