According to PKR information chief, Tian Chua, ex-Gerakan’s MP and Penang state ex-co Toh Kin Woon visited the Permatang Pauh operations centre yesterday at 6.30pm.

He expressed his support for Pakatan and Anwar Ibrahim.

He urged Permatang Pauh voters to support Anwar.

He also said that for those who support multi-racial politics, Barisan Nasional is already out of fashion.

Are we seeing another cross over soon?

Whatever it is, welcome on board to multi-racial politics, Dr. Toh!

Below, a carnival of flags. Feast for the eyes:

Today also, PKR launched their hotline for problems and feedback:

Toh Kin Woon has been the voice of conscience in Gerakan for some years now.
Gerakan, especially Koh Tsu Koon, has chosen to sideline him, as what he had to say was “inconvenient”. I think its a matter of time before he quits or is fired.

  2. now thing’s started to get really interesting.
Dr.Koh might get another shocking surprise soon, he lost Penang… will he lost gerakan?

  3. matt says:

Sloone gerakan already irrelevant after mac 8 so is mic,mca and the sinking umno.Await these pp election results for a new MALAYSIA.

  4. KSK is still dreaming with his saliva running down on his pillow.

  5. wits0 says:

It takes a spine somewhat to have that voice of conscience. KTK doesn’t, never have that in him. Gerakan will become a an irrelevant and useless memory.

  6. RKP says:

There is surely more to all these. In just a matter of time, we will see the impossible happen. More and more will abandon the sinking ship. They will know its not worth the effort saving the ship, when it is fast approaching the rocks and a disintegrating shipwreck.

Jump off, if you are smart!! or you will drown, suffocate and pass off forever!!

  7. gregwar says:

Toh Kin Woon has always been consistent in his views regarding justice and fair play even when he was in the State Exco. Often this has been in conflict with his “boss” and others in Gerakan. But Kin Woon never bothered about this. He believed that as a leader he was elected to serve the people and not to lord over them. As for crossing over I am not sure that he will because as he said in the interview in Malaysiakini he only supports the movement that Anwar is leading and I think for the moment that will suffice.

  8. Badrol says:

I think it is a certainty that many bn leaders will join pakatan as son as dsai is announced the winner in the bye election. They are all playing it safe by keeping quiet for now.

  9. Edi神 says:

never trust those who jump ship

    they can jump anytime!

  10. tan, tanjong bungah says:

    Hi everyone,

It was reported today that 80% of the Perak Gerakan delegates at their State Delegates Conference asked the party to leave BN. Apart from Dr. Toh K W, a very respected politician, the on the ground feelings amongst Gerakan members is that they should leave BN as BN has still not got the message of the 12 GE that their politics based on race is getting more and more irrelevant! Dr KSK is still in self-denial of the grassroots feelings of his party members!

There is practically no news in the MSM about Dr Toh’s call to the Ptg Pauh voters to support PKR in the by-election. Would Gerakan now issue a show-cause letter to Dr Toh? What about BN’s response to this call by Dr Toh?

Or, are there waiting to postpone any decision until after Aug 26? Just like their dilly-dallying in postponing their decision on the stand of SAPP!

  11. ktteokt says:

That is why KSK is still an “Acting Chairman” of Gerakan! And man, is he “ACTING”!!!!!

  12. politicanalyst says:

Perhaps he is another person paid by ANWAR to sabotage the Gerakan’s party. He should just move to PKR rather than poisoning other people to follow his footstep. Go on your own Toh Kin Woon, don’t disturb other people.

  13. Phua Kai Lit says:

    Hats off to Dr Toh!

    A true public intellectual.

  14. wandererAUS says:

It is important to note, Dr Toh has made a point…to support Anwar.
Joining PKR will be his personal decision but, it will be fantastic if he jumped on board.

  16. High time BN has to disban. The parties inside BN are all espousing racial politics. They matter their own race rather than the interest of the Nation.Such are their behaviour that corruption has become so pervasive and endemic with this administration.Nothing is good with their policies either.
I believe strongly that a muti racial party like PKR can only save Malaysia from going to the road like Burma and Zimbabwe!Majority of Malaysians believe that the Malaysia promised by Tunku ABdul Rahman is slipping away from them.

To that, Dr Toh, you will always have my respect.

  27. choongs says:

“Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia, Parti Gerakan for short, has since its founding in 1968, been committed to the pursuit of a non-ethnic approach as the basis of its political struggle, be it in politics, economics, education and culture. Parti Gerakan has never relented, and will never relent, in our struggle for a truly Malaysian non-racial approach towards the attainment of a united, secular and socially just Malaysia, though the forms and modes of struggle can vary according to changing circumstances. This was the line of our party’s founding fathers. It remains our line to-day. It will be our line tomorrow. This consistency and steadfastness in our party’s commitment to the non-ethnic approach are premised on the belief that there is a large section of our society whose political consciousness is Malaysian, and want political representation as Malaysians.” – Parti Gerakan website.

    Hi kayangsari,

Dr Toh is no traitor to his party’s ideals which is supposed to be on a social platform and multi-racialism.

He has been consistently vocal on past and present issues and practices of BN which go against this multiracialism stand of his and that of his party.

The other Gerakan leaders have for a very long, long time used the excuse that the party is ‘the conscience within BN’. They have been silent on issues and practices of BN which are contrary to their party’s ideals. They only use the excuse of being a conscience of BN for fear that speaking out would result in what they stand to lose and what they may not continue to gain in future, whereas Dr Toh was unafaid that he might lose his Pg State Exco post!

The people of Pg have spoken loud and clear on what they think of these Gerakan leaders. They have been white-washed on 8 March, 2008 and yet, these leaders are still in self-denial mode!

    Asal usul Kontrak Sosial.

    News from NST,

Police had concluded their investigation into the missing five kilogrammes of syabu from the Johor Criminal Investigation Department (CID) evidence room on July 31 with the arrest of two men in Jasin, Malacca on Friday.
Johor police chief Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Shariff said the two suspects, aged 23 and 40 were flagged down at a roadblock at the north-bound KM185 of the North-South Highway near Jasin for speeding.

Mokhtar said their bid to bribe the policemen manning the roadblock with RM450 to avoid a speeding ticket failed and they were arrested under the Corruption Prevention Act 1997.

“Police checked their car and found white powder, believed to be syabu, in two small plastic containers, two bottles of a brown liquid also believed to be syabu and 67 Erimin 5 pills, prompting them to investigate the case under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.

He said the suspects have previous criminal records under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and one of them was in the police wanted list under Section 39 (A) (1) of the same act

I just read in the Sun today, an interesting article by the Editor (special reporting) of the Sun newspaper, Mr. R. Nadeswaran :

What morally wrong with the truth

…all said and done, Datuk Dr. Ng Yen Yen has two simple questions to answer. One: Was it morally right on her part to take part to an oath if allegiance to the King and country when being appointed Senator in the Dewan Negara while being a permanent resident of Australia? She has since said that she did it for the sake of her three children’s education. Then, that too has to be answered: Was it morally right to take up PR status just for the sake of her children’s education? Did she not deceive the government of Australia? And more importantly by having one foot Down Under, is she implying that she does not have faith in the country’s future and its education system? People living in glass houses should not throw stones.

Wah? It it legal to be in that position and hold another country PR? And of course, the moral issue involved. Malaysia Boleh, anyone?

One of the most popular MCA parliamentarians, Ms Chew Mei Fun of Petaling Jaya Utara has made a implicit warning to her Chinese voters on Sunday: ” if there is no sufficient Chinese representation in the Barisan Nasional, it is not a good thing, the Chinese community cannot afford another May 13 incident.“

That’s why she chews on crows nowadays and deservingly so. All the beehoons are now belong to Tony Phua.

  67. ktteokt says:

The “activation call” of Permatang Pauh victory by Keadilan will set “kataks and kodoks” from BN jumping right after the By-election!!!

  68. ktteokt says:

Another May 13 threat by Chew Mei Fun. Didn’t she learn something from the road accident she met just before GE12? Why of all the passengers in the car she was travelling in did not suffer any injuries except her and she had to be wearing “special” glasses all these while? It was a warning from the Almighty above that she should refrain from threatening her own kind but she ignored and has continued ignoring. Is she expecting something “bigger”???? Already the government has banned the May 13 subject but she seemed to enjoy bringing it up for her personal ends!!!!

  69. ktteokt says:

And Ng Yen Yen is too busy formulating ways and means of teaching Malaysian women “How to Tie Thy Husbands”!!!!

MCA eat their own – cannibals. MCA was a benefactor in May 13.

  71. darn says:

The honest to god truth? I AM EFFING SPEECHLESS. How would insufficient Chinese representation in BN lead to another May 13? Is it because Miss Chew knows that BN members will start slaughtering the Chinese community? If she knows something, she had better tell us so that I can make preparations to take an extended holiday break in Haadyai, or somewhere where I will be safe.

    Hi Hawk 21:42:16

Chew Mei Fun’s propagandistic scare tactics won’t work this time!

    1. Our Malay brothers and sisters of goodwill in PKR, PAS etc will stand arm-in-arm with their non-Malay brothers and sisters

    2. As documented by Dr Kua Kia Soong in his recent book on May 13, it was an evil plot hatched by some evil politicians

    3. The noble aims of the NEP i.e. to uplift the Malays and to end identification of race with economic function was hijacked by the UMNOputras and changed into a way to concoct endless rent-seeking schemes for their enrichment. Many Malays are aware of this!

    4. After the regime change, I hope that PM Anwar Ibrahim will set up a Truth and Reconciliation Commission on May 13. This will expose all those evil people (dead or still alive) who hatched this. These Malaysian Slobodan Milosevichs and Malaysian Radovan Karadzichs will have their names deservingly disgraced and condemned in the annals of Malaysian history.

  73. yang says:

Umno can’t trigger a May 1969 ‘solution’ to the March 2008 election. So now MCA is trying to do that. Let us pray that these MCA agent provocateurs rot in hell for seven generations. And if anything adverse does happen, let us hang the MCA people from the highest tree and leave their bodies to rot in the sun.

I, for one, do not want a May 1969 ‘solution’. Most Malays, if not all, don’t as well. And we Malays curse those MCA Chinese who are prepared to see this country burn and lives sacrificed just so that they can win back ground they lost on 8 March 2008.

MCA MEMBERS CROSSING OVER TO PKR
    GERAKAN MEMBERS CROSSING TO DAP
MIC MEMBERS CROSSING OVER TO PKR
UMNO MEMBERS CROSSING OVER TO PKR
MIC MEMBERS CROSSING OVER TO PAS
GERAKAN MEMBERS CROSSING OVER TO PKR

BN FORT HAS CRUMBLED AND FALLING INTO DESTRUCTION!

  77. Joshua says:

It doesn’t really matter if he joins PKR or not as long as he openly supports the cause of justice! YEAH!

    Anyway, my two cents here:

Secondly, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Bin Azlan, IC No: 850706-01-5687, of No. 29, Jalan BU 7/6, Selangor, swore on the Quran at 6.00pm on 15 August in the Federal Territory Mosque in front of Ramlang Bin Porigi, UMNO Member No. 03405853 of Cawangan Seri Macang, Bahagian Bukit Mertajam, Parlimen Permatang Pauh.

Can you now see the comedy of the whole thing? Ramlang Porigi, the so-called ‘Imam’ who conducted Saiful’s swearing on the Quran, other than possessing a name that sounds like an illegal Indonesian immigrant who has just been given a ‘blue’ IC, is an UMNO member from Permatang Pauh. Any wonder why Anwar ‘tak layan’ this whole matter? It was all a circus show for the benefit of the Permatang Pauh voters.
