There will be a live webcast on the press conference with Anwar Ibrahim scheduled to take place in about 20 minutes at the KeADILan headquarters at 4:00 PM GMT+8. Login to his blog, www.anwaribrahimblog.com .The webcast is also available on his Facebook profile page.
Additionally Anwar Ibrahim will attend a public rally at Shah Alam Melawati Stadium tonight, July 1, at 8:30 PM.
Earlier, Anwar Ibrahim has managed to lodge a police report at the Shah Alam police station against the IGP and AG for fabricating evidence against him in the 1998-99 sodomy trial (aka Sodomy Part I).
This follows a shocking sodomy report filed against him by his aide Saiful Bukhairy on Sunday.
I wonder what Musa Hassan and Abdul Gani Patail are currently doing? I don’t see how the police can remain independent and do their work properly with their chief being implicated in something as massive as this.
Anyway, at the station, Anwar arrived about 2.50pm, and was accompanied by several lawyers, among them, William Leong, Sankara Nair and R Sivarasa.
He was greeted by about 50 supporters, shouting reformasi. Anwar had to push through them to make his way into the police station. Some feared for his life and wished he had been allowed to drive his car through the crowd.
He came in his official black suit and looked a wee bit tired. There is a press conference at his Tropicana office about now (3.30pm, Malaysian time).
Most of the other PKR MPs were in Parliament, his daughter Nurul Izzah who came to lend her support, and Yusmadi Yusoff, MP for Balik Pulau, Penang, also did not make it inside the station.
The world awaits with bated breath on what his police report contains.
