What kind of attention, Najib Tun Razak?

Which internet websites and blogs?

Critical ones or lovey-dovey ones?

Accurate information on what?

The birds and bees?

Who decides accurate information?

YOU, definitely.

How do you wish to “manage” the new media?

ISA, OSA and Sedition Law?

You are not ‘tech savvy’? But of course!

(Bernama) — Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said today the government would give more attention to the non-conventional media of Internet websites and blogs to ensure that the people receive accurate information.

This was most necessary as the impact of this so-called new media on the people was evident in the last general election, he said during a question-and-answer session at the Asia Media Summit 2008, here.

Najib earlier read out the keynote address of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at the event.

“We will certainly introduce the new dimension in terms of winning over public opinion. One of the aspects that perhaps we have overlooked is how to manage the new media.

“I have to admit, frankly, that we have underestimated their role and I have to admit that we are not ‘tech savvy’ to tackle this and utilise the impact of the new technology,” he said.

Coming soon, more prosecution and persecution of bloggers who don’t toe the line.

What polite language “the government would give more attention to the non-conventional media of Internet websites and blogs to ensure that the people receive accurate information”, when what it might really mean is CENSORSHIP!! Accurate information might mean allowing only the kind of information they want the public to read. This might also mean that blogs could meet the same fate as our daily newspapers: full of propaganda, half-truths, news blackouts etc.

Face it BN bully boys. With the internet, you’ve met a power bigger than yourselves, and you just don’t know what to do about it. HAH!!

  7. ktteokt says:

If he thinks this is right, perhaps he should consider scapping the whole MSC project initiated by TDM and close the doors of Malaysia to the outside world. We will then all become “katak dibawah tempurung”, not knowing what’s going on in the open world and be content with whatever “charity” the government is willing to give us. Then and only then will we satisfy the ego of these people in power in bringing the nation into REVERSE GEAR!!!!!

They are still in a state of denial, they are still underestimating the emotions of the Rakyat, they are still underestimating the strength of AI. Look at the continuing imprisonment of the Hindu rights activist, the continuing giving out political potfolio to politician who is a definite liability to any organisation.

When the time comes when they have been swept away by the current of discontent and disgust, they will still be in a state of denial and not knowing what hit them.

Deputyt PM Najib TODAY on Bloggers

Bloggers over Malaysia for what he said today ALL BLOGGERS are to be tied up without doubt to the Policy, Concept, Mentality of the Barisan National. In order to be a licensed Blogger, you have to be:-

    1. Obtain a license from the Malaysian Goivernment, as a blogger. Imagine, Susan, have to obtain one? HAHaHaHa

    2. Your name as a blogger will have to be screened by the Special Branch, the Internal Security, etc and see that you toe the line of theirGovernment. Imagine, Raja Putra Kamaruddin of Malaysia Today toeing the line of the Government, i.e. the Deputy PM, Najib Razak That will be the end of the World.

    3. That means the entire MEDIA whether be the Radio, TV, Newspapers, (as they have to obtain their Annual Licences to comply to the Government’s Directions) inclosuve all the bloggers.

    4. I am positive the world press, human rights’ organisations and your Asia-Forum will take up this infingement of your Basic Rights.

  33. endemic rakyat says:

In Malaysia, we either have hero or traitor. A hero is highly respected by the rakyat and hero will come to the aid of the rakyat when the rakyat is in need of help.

The hero and rakyat are akin to a big and compassionate family. They respect and enjoy with the company between themselves.

As to a traitor of Malaysia, the traitor sees the rakyat as an enemy and is out to squeeze as much benefits out from the rakyat as possible. The traitor treats the rakyat as slaves and will not hesitate to exploite the rakyat to the hilt just to enrich the traitor himself.

The rakyat wants to get rid of the traitor but the traitor will do all despicable tricks/ rules to immobilize the rakyat.

The rakyat sees the traitor as their public enemy and will do all kinds of fighting back to quell the ruthless treatment of the traitor.

In the end, the rakyat will triumph and the traitor will be defeated and send to jail/ exile in disgrace.

The traitors like Saddam, Marcos, Suharto, Idil Amin though died long ago but still remembering by future generations as despicable dictators and are still subjected to condemning by their people even when time elapses.

The endemic traitors in Bolehland are just ignorant to all the miserable endings of their ‘ex-buddies’ overseas.

Well, when the time comes, it’s just to late to regret. Didn’t the Saddam hanging a good reminiscence for those endemic traitors?

Can a traitor harass millions of bloggers in Malaysia?

The traitor needs to ponder and thinks those sad endings of their counterparts aka Saddam, Marcos, Suharto etc. These endemic traitors must put those portraits of disgraceful and diseased dictators in front of their bed so that they could see the portraits and picturing the agonies of these traitors when they were obliterated by their respective fellow countrymen.

Just who is taking care of this nation, its security, the economy & the rayaat’s plight to make ends meet !!!

  37. billauchris says:

DPM Najib is getting paranoid. He is getting rather impatient when he is linked to Altantuya’s C4 homicide.

Now he is threatening to go after the bloggers who vilify Abdullah, him and UMNO. The ghosts of yester-years apparently are haunting them now. Believe me, these maurauders of the country’s resources are suffering from insomnia and they are going to pay for the crimes that they have perpetrated against the peoples’ properties.

The people of Malaysia have trusted these BN politicians for the past 50 years and they had almost destroyed and bankrupted the nation. Look at the education system which has poisoned and polarised the minds of the Malays. They have successfully sown the seed of hatred and animosity against the non-malays for making wild allegations that they make them to be corrupt, lazy and less competitive. Just read the letter and circular drafted by the Chairman of the MU Garduands Society. For him to utter such imfalammatory speach to his fellow graduands, I feel that the education system has failed not only him but most of the malays. I feel that the DPM should apply the Sedition Act and lock him up for good.

Just imagine with just two plus months, the amount ouf worms dug out from the Pandora’s Box is alarming. Transfer of money, approval of various construction and infrastructure projects, unfortunate loss of the island to Singapore because of poor record keeping etc. Why should the BN’s Government condone all these acts of treasons against the nation. Under the military discipline, they would have been shot or executed.

I think the next area we need to focus and expose is the UNMO’s hidden modus operandi to siphon money away from the public through the GLCs. Look at what MAS is reduced to? A cheap-skate airline trying to kill a local profitable Air Asia through ridiculous ticket-warfare. And the MInister of Transport is closing his eyes to what is happening in the market. One fine day, MAS is going to declare its losses, they are running back to ABB to increase another round of fuel price by another 4%!. Until today, the last 4% increase has been swept under the carpet. What happen to the promises – reduced congestion, widen roads, improve the public transport etc? PM. What have you got to say to this YAB? Are you going to walk off your talk again?

Planners, please extend a LRT line linking Subang Jaya, Old PJ, Taman Sentosa, OUG, Happy Garden and Taman Desa. When are we going to enjoy this facility? This routing is going to be very profitable.

I just cannot see how the boggers are going to be prosecuted. They operte from overseas and they are doing all Malaysians a great turn. Please cotinue the good work.

  40. Payback Time says:

I won’t be surprise if China will to lay claim on Pulau Redang they might get it too. All you politicians out there tell us where is your prirorities???!!!

  41. proverb says:

The desire to be rich is dangerous to a man’s family. He will be tempted to accept bribes or compromise righteousness, which will bring trouble to his wife, children, and estate. But a man that hates bribes or financial compromise will preserve and prosper his family.

Greed is excessive ambition and covetous desire for more than you have or should reasonably expect (1:19; Isaiah 56:11). Gain is financial success or wealth. The proverb condemns desiring to be rich, which leads to compromising godliness and wisdom.

The gifts here are bribes, which are given to pay a man to compromise the law or financial wisdom (29:4; Ex 23:8; Deut 16:19; Is 33:15). A virtuous man will hate such gifts, for he will not sell his integrity or the approval of God for any price.

There are many temptations associated with desire for financial success, and they often bring pain and trouble to a man’s family. But a man who is content with his income, and would never consider cheating for any advantage, will protect and prosper his family.

Beyond bribes, desiring riches brings temptation to compromise in dealings, break the law, violate financial wisdom, overwork, be tempted by investment scams, mistreat employees, cheat on giving, neglect charity, over-expand, deprive the family of affection and time, forget your soul, worry about tomorrow, be carnally minded, associate excessively with the world, be puffed up, despise others, and numerous other sins.

Here is Paul’s sober warning: “But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows” (I Tim 6:9-10).

God’s ministers cannot be greedy of gain, for such men will compromise righteousness or the gospel for income (I Tim 3:3,8; 6:6-10; Titus 1:7). This rule matched Moses’ requirement for Israel’s leaders to be men hating covetousness (Ex 18:21). And John the Baptist told the Roman soldiers at his baptism to be content with their wages (Luke 3:14).

Two things cost investors and businessmen – greed and fear: greed causes destruction and fear misses potential gain. Fear is better than greed (14:23; 21:5; 22:3; 28:11,19,22). There are no free lunches: wise men reject even cheap lunches, knowing they are deceptive. Bulls and bears can make money in any market, but pigs end up eating trash.

Reader, how much time do you spend thinking about getting ahead? Is it merely the desire to do with your might what God has given you to do (Eccl 9:10)? Or is it an obsession to rise in the esteem of the world by financial increase (18:11)? Be warned!

Are you tempted in any area of life to compromise in order to get ahead? In any of the areas listed above? Godly men are content with what they have, for they esteem the Lord and His word their portion forever (Ps 19:10; 73:25-26; 119:11; Heb 13:5-6). And their families will be blessed in the earth for such noble and virtuous men (11:21; Is 65:23).
