Khairy Jamaluddin must be very happy to read this:

From the STAR:

Penang state government has denied an SMS circulating here that the previous state administration transferred state land in Rifle Range to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s son-in-law Khairy Jamaluddin. The land lease was still fully held by the Penang Municipal Council.

Two weeks ago, this blog carried a post about the sms and a reply from Khairy denying the land deal.

Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon’s former political secretary Mark Ooi last week called on the new government to clarify the land ownership and put a stop to the false SMS implicating the former chief minister.

The SMS, which had been circulating over the past few weeks, claimed that “the former government under Dr Koh had transferred a piece of land meant for public use to Khairy”.

“This (clarification) will help Gerakan clear its name,” said Chow Kon Yeow (State Local Government, Traffic Management and Environment Committee chairman)  said after the weekly exco meeting.

I would rather not believe in this one.
BN are master of manipulation and they can manipulate anything as long as they think it’s good for them.
They have the power to cover up anything and money is the real power!

Don’t just issue statements. Show proof now that it is public. Many wants to be informed correctly. Statements just do not suffice.

Present government sents people to jail under ISA without PROOF!!!.

Don’t want to be accused to be on the same boat. Comprendo?

  3. When people are so used to getting lies told to them
They can’t help but being sketical about what they hear now
Can’t blame them if they ask for proof before their eyes
There are simply too many ‘tricks’ being played on the public

So, who spread the rumours? It might be:

    1) Anti Badawi within Umno
    2) Anti Badawi outside Umno/BN or the Opposition

We shall not discuss possibility no 2 as it is not neccessary for the Opposition – already n command of Penang when the SMS was spread – to further discredit the PM and his SIL. Also, if indeed the land deal was true, the Opposition(now Pg Government) had no need to use the SMS. It would have held an open press conference to expose the scandal and get full coverage (and credit ) for it!

As for possibility no. 1 who have been the loudest – in open and undercover – in denouncing Badawi since the election?
We all know the answer, don’t we?

Need we make further guesses as to who stood to gain the most from spreading these rumours?

Guan Eng, please elaborate on Mark Ooi’s statement and clarify the matter. This will not only endear you to the PM, but show the rakyat that you are a fair governor.

KJ, get your contacts to flush out the rumour mongerers!

One month before Ops Lallang, a highly seditious and hateful letter condemning the non-Malays were openly circulated around KL. A fellow journalist from Berita Harian showed it me, but I dismissed the contents as false as the accusations were overboard and not very logical A couple of weeks later, Najib was waving his keris and spewing seditious statements in an Umno gatheiring. The rest is history.

Same here, let us be vigilant and not be led astray by false messengers spreading falsehoods to suit their own agenda.

Let us analyse and scrutinize these “facts” first before believing them per se. Let us not believe them because we want to believe them.

Don’t let these despicable characters succeed in using the blogosphere or SMS to casually slander an innocent person, and in the process, cheat us once more.

Virus, bacteria there is a cure. Modern medicine has discovered vaccines against most diseases.

One thing they have not conqured is Cancer. Cancer originates from the inside and works slowing towards the outside. Finding cure is difficult. Most of the victims of cancer die young and painfully.

UMNO is no different. People inside are using the outside to systematically erode the institution. Their agenda is: Love Money and Power.

The Love of Money is the root of ALL EVIL.

Try not to love money so much. Use money wisely. Less Problem.

I’ll believe it when the CM announces it. I don’t trust anyone from the BN led previous administration. Why can’t the chief from the land office give us a clear picture?

Note, the land may not have been transferred, but it is possible for SIL’s nominees to place a caveat to protect their interest.

let’s have a clear answer from the CM.

  9. lucia says:

the CM did announce it lah, donplaypuks. last night on tv, i saw and heard LGE announced it, holding some documents, which is the proof i suppose, so why cried for proof.

It is obvious that Star’s reporting is not accurate. Chow showed copies of the land deed /grant which clearly stated that the land is 100% under the council. I don’t think Chow or Guan Eng will cover up for Koh Tsu Koon if they suspect any foul play.

    SMS, Share More Speculations.
While the sms is being confirmed as untrue (by BN that is),
are we going to be complacent and move on?

The federal gomen should start investigate the source of the sms and take action, since a BN MP is being wrongly accused.
Waiting for the KJ to comment. 🙂

I suppose people only believe what they want to believe. It is a shame that sometimes people simply thrive in rumours that implicate others. Conspiracy theories are always more fun. But I simple don’t see the point of dragging this on.

Who really killed JFK? Who really killed Princess Di? Did KJ really own the land? It doesn’t really matter what the evidence points to, does it? Because ultimately, we end up believing what we want to.

  14. Robert Teh says:

I agree with viknesh – for heaven sake, please move on. That SMS was inaccurate or simply speculative. Can we get a life and do something constructive rather than trying to further analyse the “official” statements made in the press by YB Chow.

I was a receipient of that SMS and I was guilty of forwarding it to a couple of guys. My apology to all those implicated in the SMS.

  17. allen ng says:

I don’t know whether it is true or not as what was published in the paper.Everybody in penang was taking about it and hope it is not a propaganda!

  18. I think it may not to bad if the land is transferred to KJ because Rifle Range belongs to the DEAD and KJ is as dead as Samy Voodoo. Ha! Ha! Ha!
