This is what they say about PKR: 34 BN MPs ready to defect? This is what PKR says of itself: Close to 30 BN MPs in the bag?  Promises, promises, promises. When will it happen, eh? So much has been spoken, so much has been written, but where is the action? Even an anti-hopping law is being suggested to prevent those from hopping.

There were a lot of talks about money too – millions at stake – 10, 20, 30 million for a froggie, though PKR denies there is any offer of money. The rumours and the news reports continue to buzz over the matter, though. But can someone, anyone, actually catch a real frog, instead of just harping and harping and hapring about it? Analysing, criticising, scolding and speculating about it? Day in and day out. A hundred words written and yet…still no frogs…sigh.

It really gets tiring.

I am really waiting for the day when those froggies really cross over? When? When? When? I am really getting tired of all this talk, talk and talk, no action. PKR bring on the froggies, please. Let us see their faces. Let us see who are responsible for bringing us a ‘New Malaysia’.

Alas, we see this. And it is not entirely surprising at all? For all the talk about party hopping and PKR. You let BN beat you at it again?

Bernama says:

DAP state assemblyman V. Sivakumar (Tronoh) has lodged a police report that he was offered RM65 million to quit the party and join any Barisan Nasional (BN) component party, decribing the offer as the “highest” he had received since March 9, from people claiming to represent the BN. There is an offer as an executive councillor post thrown in as well, and police protection (24 hours).

Sheeeeesh, and all the while I am waiting for some BN/ UMNO fella to go to town with his sms – when PKR actually sents him a sms or deposit some ringgits into his account.

Moral of the story: When you plan to do something bad, criminal even. Something like party hopping, buying votes or bribery, you circulate rumours that your enemy is doing it first. Then you set about the job as if no one will find out, coz everyone else is busy condeming and castigating your enemy.

But alas, your lies will find you out. Truth cannot be contained. A frog is after all a frog. You can’t miss his giant leap.

I think Susan here is going over the top! BN won by fraud and injustice for this election and has always been; so I don’t see any reason to scream down on Pakatan takeover right now??!! What’ so immoral about correcting injustice; and if some BN politicians have come to their senses finally; good for them They’re human after all; so be it. Anwar too made some mistakes when he was in BN (mainly due to him being in the wrong party BN and system anyway), so what’s wrong with BN politicians repenting, to the rakyat that is. And by jumping onto the right ship of Pakatan finally; but must be fundamentally for justice sake, over power-hungry sake!

  4. China-man says:

    Penang, April 8 (Bernama)

PAS President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang Tuesday admitted that the Pakatan Rakyat (People’s Alliance) was trying to persuade Barisan Nasional (BN) Members of Parlaiment (MPs) to join the alliance so that it can form the federal government but wanted the effort to be free of money politics.

“We hope the BN MPs will join on their own free will,” he told reporters after paying a visit to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guang Eng at the latter’s office here. The alliance, consisting of Parki Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), DAP and PAS won 82 of the 222 seats in the March 8 general election. They need a minimum of 30 BN MPs to cross over to have simple majority in the Dewan Rakyat. The BN won 140 seats.

Asked when the alliance is expected to realize the goal, Hadi said he could not say for sure. “It may be earlier than 6 months, may be longer. Man proposes but God disposes,” he said when asked to comment on remarks by Penang Deputy Chief Minister I, Mohammad Fairus Kahiruddin that the alliance would oust the BN government in the next five or six months.

ONE thing is clear. That the PKR led coalition is dead set to take over the government. Another thing is clear: that DAP and PAS are behind the move and they want that to happen as soon as possible. However, one needs to notice a small observation. Only PAS and PKR leaders talk of taking over the government while DAP keeps quiet. The reason: the day DAP talks about taking over the government is the day UMNO will gain strength and Malay nationalism be exhibited to the end by all and sundry. So there is an understanding between the 3 parties. Let the Malay led parties (PAS and PKR) talk about taking over the federal government. Let them talk about NEP while DAP keeps quiet on these two issues for million reasons we know. Husam Musa said 25 days ago that they are working hard to get that number to take over the federal government. Also above, (kedahan link of Malaysiakini he says it will happen soon). Hadi Awang repeated that message for quite a number of times. PKR Penang Deputy MB talked about it. PKR veep Azmin Ali talked about it. But not DAP. For DAP, they were instructed to keep quite and just wait for the job to be done lest they cause havoc if they talk about the move for both historical, perceptional and also political reasons. So hold your horses and wait. It is bound to happen. The game is over for BN and UMNO.

Hi, Susan, once upon a time, the Sabahans were subjected to harsh treatments where bombs exploded here and there after PBS’s Pairin toppled Haris. Then the frogs started jumping and BN took over the government. It was rumoured that Musa Hitam was not happy with this undemocratic act, and he clashed with Mahathir, later Musa Hitam resigned. Then, UMNO came to Sabah, BN ruled again, till now. Of course, in order to consolidate the BN’s power, those up there launched a massive plan(conspirary?), coded name “PROJECT MAHATHIR”. A Royal Commission should be set up to investigate the masterminds and bring them to justice. Who is behind this, I believed Mahathir would know very well but he would prefer to forget the whole truth. So, for the past, BN has planted the seeds, and now the opposition will do the same to BN, harvesting the fruits from BN. This is the Law of KARMA, it’s called FAIRNESS. Nobody can go against this Law of Universe. Anyway, Anwar would know the dark secrets and he should tell the RAKYAT the truth, nothing but the whole truth, when he become the next PM, once all the other MPs crossed over.

Yes, I have read about the ominous cross-over of some 30BN MPs to join the Pakatan Rakyat. If this really happened, it will be a historic moment for frustrated Malayisians to celebrate.

No wonder our PM was so condescending to the demands of the Sabahans at the recent meeting who demanded more representations in the Cabinet.
I think the Sabahans demands deserve due and serious considerations by PM. I am sure PM is also afraid that if the requests are not met, many MPs there might defect or leap-frog over to the Pakatan Rakyat. The consequence is obvious and need not be told.

In my view, any ministerial appointment must be definitive in the sense that there must be a portfolio fodr the appointee. Minister without Portfolio is nothing but just another appendage of the PM. The electorate have spoken that they appreciate unity, equal treatment and opportunity, rule of law, freedom of religion etc. In the circumstance, PM should seriously consider setting up the following ministries:

    1) Ministry of National Integration;
    2) Minstry of Inter-religious Affairs & Culture
    3) Ministry of Sabah Affairs
    4) Ministry of Sarawak Affairs
    5) PM should reliquish the Finance Portfolio to someone else just as
DPM should not hog onto the Defence Portfolio.

If you only care for the BN and the future of your government, then you must act according to your wisdom and not your heart. Sharizat mjsst be released as the Senior Advisor to save the country of the hard-earned public money. Only those whose integrity is impeccable shall be considered for ministerial appointment. You as the CEO must play fair and be honest to yourself and the country.

I will be watching following closely the development. The situational going is tough but the tough must get going. I wish PM success.

i am inclined towards Noor Aza Othman’s views that it’s alright for MP’s from BN who have repented and realised that this country has gone to the dogs under BN rule, switch alliance to the People’s Alliance.

BN has cheated all through out the 50 years in power. Demarcation and re demarcation of election boundaries in it’s favour. Unfair campaigning methods, using of state machinery during campaigning, using state controlled media to mislead and give unfair coverage to the candidates contesting.

How else can u explain the constituency of Teresa Kok. She won by 30,000 votes. If you compare the Seputeh constituency to Putrajaya according to population, Seputeh has over 50,000 voters and Putrajaya hardly 8,0000.

The Rakyat have been short changed all this while. We cannot wait till 2012/ 2013 for the next election. BN has not learnt any lesson and not got the message from the rakyat on March 8th. How else can u explain Azalina’s Tourism statement, the giving of food with high sugar content to Hindraf leaders under ISA detention who are suffering from Diabetes.

UMNO is set to distroy this country. We have given them 50 years, another 5 years may be disasterous.

Besides for those who had access to internet and youtube, the others who formed the majority were denied fair access to state media so that they could make a wise choice of whom would give them a better deal and who could manage the affairs of the country.

So if the rakyat never got an oppurtunity to decide whom they should choose how can one say it’s unfair for frogs to hop ? I urge the frogs to hop when the rain comes ………………🙂

Remember BN slogan for the GE – ONLY ONE CHOICE !!

So they rakyat never had a choice actually and they admit it

I say PR go for it, let the frogs come, but keep them on a tight rope and teach them the rules of fair game. Keep a close watch on them because they have come from a tainted party. The citizens elected you people. Even how bad BN is, you are still the ones elected by the citizens. It is not right to hop to the opposition because more than 50% chose you because of who you are. Hopping simply means you are abandoning at least 50% of the citizens!

    IT IS NOT ETHICAL!

  28. novice101 says:

The Perkatan Rakyat seems so anxious to take over the running of the country, Its first task now should be to run the 5 state governments under its control effectively. The rakyat has placed its faith and trust in the party, PR should properly repay this gesture. It should pour all the resources and energies it possesses into making its first job a big success.

If it succeeds in getting the BN representatives to cross over and manages to form the federal government, can the PKR run a credible government? The PKR went into the recent GE12 without a strong list of candidates. The extent of the win surprised many, including the parties in the PKR, themselves. Would it be fair to the rakyat as running a government is no trivial matter.

PR should consider the choice of using the period before GE13 to consolidate its win. This time should be spent in recruiting, assessing, choosing and training the potential candidates. By then, the rakyat would feel the time well spent and would be more at ease and comfortable to hand over the federal government to the PR.

Forming the federal government by getting the BN representatives to cross over would still be viewed by many in the electorate as getting in by the back-door. Respect for PR will diminish. Do it the decent way.

  29. Frog-watcher says:

At first i thought the 34 potential frogs from northern Malaysia were just red herrings, and that this was to take spotlight off Sabah and Sarawak. On further mulling over the matter, I think the potential frogs are from all over East and West Malaysia. I think frogs from BN Terengganu might hop over to the Alliance; some too from Selangor and Kedah. Mybe even the non UMNO party MPs from Malacca, and even Johore & Pahang.

So, Malaysia seems to be a land of frogs. Sarawak no longer the land of hornbills nor Sabah the land belowthe wind(?!).

Whichever, I think he crucual tme will be whenAI is elected to Parliament.

I cannot believe that PKR is so pure and innocent that it had not made any promises for BN representatives to jump ship.

Maybe it hasn’t got the cash cows like Patrick Badawi to promise big cash payments but nevertheless PKR would have to “induce” those guys to jump.

Raja Petra is a very smart guy with a great team of writers. He has consistently mix the truth with a few half truths and sprinkle in a few lies, coupled with some very witty remarks to make his articles very readable. Great work RPK. Please take this as a compliment.

That botak guy RPK had done a great deal, mostly good in my opinion, in openning the eyes of the rakyat but sometimes he too has his faults but I could rather cast my lot with him and Anwar rather than with AAB or Mahathir.

BN & UMNO have disappointed me too many times and too often. They still haven’t learnt and are still treating the rakyat with utter contempt.

All AAB and BN and UMNO have to do is to acknowledge to the rakyat the mistakes they have made and promise to fix them asap and I am sure the rakyat will be more than happy to give them another chance. But they have to do something positive and affirmative – quickly.

But instead those idiots have continued to ignore the rakyat’s wishes. Fancy confirming Najib as the next PM. Najib has a big Mongolian cloud hanging over him and the best thing that he can do for BN/UMNO is to step down until he can clear his name.

And the only thing coming out of the post mortem is stupid remarks about becoming an Islamic State and Islamic laws.

And some of the “has been” of BN has finally recognised the power of the internet and has their own blogs. But their blogs don’t allow free uncensored comments. So what’s the point.

Further, the UMNO and BN blogs are third rate attempts compared with Malaysiasini, Malaysia Today, Susan Loone and various other blogs.

Carry on treating the raykat like mushrooms – keep them in the dark and feed them a lot of fertilizer – and shit will hit the fan soon.

UMNO is the government now and it is using its resources to destroy PR goals.

  34. malayamuda says:

if we are to say “no to frogs” as we must respect the wishes of the people who elected the BN in power , then we must also accept all the atrocities that will be committed by the BN and also then punishment dished out to the 5 states the next 5 years as that will also be disrespectful and un ethical as 50 % of the rakyat voted for BN.

That means just shut up and wait for 2012 to come ? I mean there cant be different reasoning for different situations right.

Heard what Noh Omar said yest on News ? He said Selangor resident wished for change and voted BN out. And this is the kind of change Pakatan will bring to the Selangor people [ while refering to the Pig Farm in Kuala Langat ] .

What he’s saying is ” serves you guys right ……live with the Pigs “

When BN won the just concluded election with credible evidents that have cheated, vote rigging, money politics, bribes, etc.. – MSM says it diferently. When their frogs wanted to jump to PR – they say it is BRIBE! Useless BN, they have been doing it for 50 years. Look at Sabah and Sarawak. Why can’t we open our mind and hearts to those from BN that wanted to repent. At least we give PR to rule the federal government and to start the 2 party system in this country. Eventually, BN will have to merge into one entity and throw away the concept of race-based party to fight PR in parliment. As BN couldn’t afford to have 14 parties individuallly fighting the government of the day. They will lose miserably. Isn’t that a break through when it comes? I for one believes that a 2 party concept, free of race-based will prevail at the end of the day!

Ther Raayat pays tax, works hard pay more tax and the leaders enjoy the fruits of the Raayats’ labour.

Now the Raayat is poor and there are no rules in UMNO. It is each leader for himself. The strong gets more, the weak less and weakest gets nothing.

However, this may not happen because the BN govt will advise the king to dissolve Parliament, which under the law, the King must consent. Then there will be a reelection . THAT is why the PIG-Rearing issue is a BIG story. It is to scare the Malays from the coalition.

PKR should learn from their past.. what is more important? PKR’s intergrity or to have more power? katak yg melompat akan melompat balik ke kolam… tak ingat ke ex-UMNO yg join PKR in the early days… byk yg hangat2 reformasi.. lama2 projek pun takde, duit pun tarak masuk.. lompat balik…

  49. David says:

I really don’t think there’s any crossover of BN to the opposition.
Who would want to leak the secret out, if there’s really any intention of crossover. It will only ruin the whole process if the BN leaders knew it in advance.
I think it only a ploy just to confuse many, especially the BN leaders.

  50. Noor Aza Othman says:

Malayamuda! Thanks for the ever supportive comment! Anyway, what’s wrong with some of these hypocritical people? They’d rather be ruled by the ever heinously evil regime BN which will always play so dirty and manipulate the election so that they will stay in power! The BN/Umno got back into power especially from the last election through fraud and evil fascist means; and they will do so again for the next one! I WONDER HOW THESE HYPOCRITICAL PEOPLE WOULD FEEL IF THEY ARE IN JAIL AND TORTURED LIKE THE BRAVE HINDRAF LEADERS; OR ARRESTED JUST FOR PRACTICING OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND PEACEFUL ASSEMBLY AS HAD BEEN BRUTALLY SUPRESSED BEFORE THE ELECTION; FACING THE BRUTALITY AND EVILNESS OF THE POLICE FORCE AND SPECIAL BRANCH AND HAVING TO ENDURE THE MASSIVE CORRUPTION OF BN. FURTHER, WHAT ABOUT THE MASSIVE DESTRUCTION OF OUR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AND RURAL-TRADITIONAL COMMUNITIES’ LANDRIGHTS FOR LOGGING AND GIANT CORPORATE BIOFUEL PLANTATIONS ESPECIALLY THE UGLY PALM OIL, AS ARE HAPPENING EVERYWHERE ESPECIALLY WITH THE PENAN AND ORANG ASLI AREAS (LOOK UP http://www.bmf.ch FOR GOODNESS SAKE!). ALSO WHAT ABOUT THE UMNO’S EVIL ACT OF GRANTING “MALAY/BUMIPUTERA” IDENTITY TO MUSLIM FOREIGN WORKERS, REFUGEES AND ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS ESPECIALLY FROM BANGLADESH, INDONESIA, SOUTHERN PHILIPPINES AND PAKISTAN (WHY THE BIG WIN FOR BN IN BORNEO) JUST TO BUY THEIR VOTES FOR UMNO, AND MANY MANY MORE EVILNESS!!!!! OH YES, NEED TO EMNTION HOW UNSAFE THIS COUNTRY HAS BECOME FOR ALL MALAYSIANS, PARTICULARLY WOMEN AND CHILDREN!

SO GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER; AND LET’S SUPPORT PAKATAN TAKEOVER OF BN RIGHT NOW! THERE’S NOTHING IMMORAL ABOUT REPENTENT BN POLITICIANS JUMPING SHIP, FOR THE SAKE OF JUSTICE, AND FOR THE PEOPLE!

  51. missing link founded says:

PKR is stupid to coy this idea of frog jumping from BN. Please put your energy to bring in new members, especially those who are sincere and capable individual. PKR need a lot of new ideas from people who can make a difference but if under BN this talent are gone to waste or flow out of the country. PKR must build up a good team so that the next GE we can see more people like Tony Pua joining the team.

Why wasting time to attract those BN MP that are just fishing for oppotunity and contracts?

  52. orange says:

my, my… those from the other side coming out to play? baby steps or intelligence please, whichever it is that works for you. trying too hard makes one sound empty and desperate.

  53. raj raman says:

Let we all come to terms.

Earlier part of froggies jumping over to pakatan team,i totally againts it,BUT think it back very2 rasionally.

    1. The federal gomen is not going to help in any way and going to sabotage any development in pakatan state. They already talking about WANG EHsan. Its means all the tax payer money will be channel throu BN MORON.

    2. If pakatan is deny any access of the tax payer money, how are they going to bring IN the development.Any investment to make money for the state and citizen of pakatan state will be a failure do to money factor.

3.The only solution to this problem b4 BN moron kill the dreams of millions of malaysian dream is to accept some of the BN moron into pakatan b4 they kill pakatan.

ITS HAD TO BE WITH GUTS WITHOUT ETHIC,B4 BN KILL PAKATAN BY NOT PUMPING MONEY TO PAKATAN,PAKATAN HAD TO TAKE VERY DRASTIC ACTION AND BRING THE FROGS AND FINISH OF BN RULE B4 THEY FINISH OF PAKATAN and our dreams.

    Noor Aza Othman.

BN won by fraud with lost of 5 states??what the hell are u talking about…??
can u describe how will be the most fairest and clean election process…?
such a pathetic view by u aza..sorry to say…but i’m very tired with the statement BN won by fraud and postal vote….do u know that PKR wangsa maju candidate wee choo keong won majority 150 by postal votes?? think before u comment…dont show your stupidity to public….
do u know who introduced defectors in malaysian politics…as your highness leader – anwar….he should know better what happen in sabah during his time as tpm….

  55. jedyoong says:

Don’t know. Maybe waiting for the perfect alignment of the planets, sun and stars…..

  56. ANg Kong says:

trust me, it will not happen.

IMHO, PKR shouldn’t have made this announcement in the first place.
Clever strategists fight their battle in the dark and win… you just dont walk up to the yor enemy in broad day light shouting ‘here I am…youhoo!!’

i hope not to see/hear too many hasty remarks and announcements fr the PA in near future. Otherwise, i’ll loose heart…might even dig a hole and bury myself at the corner.

  57. ANg Kong says:

just read there was a news where a MP was offered a cool$80million to cross over… what will u do if you were him??

of coz take lah..stu-pid.. then use the 80million to rebuilt (not yr office) but your constituency. and then resign…! u would have done more good this way! perhaps might have a road/school named after you.

    these ppl…… really otak-less

  58. I have a dream says:

PKR should never invite frog, this are dirty frog that had been used like an old pair of shoe or “prositute” that invite BN to rape them for money.

PKR should focus to bring in new and young blood, we must identify those who are able and ready to serve the public and for the public. We need many Mr.Clean, many Mr.Green and forward looking individual who want to see the country moving forward so that some day Malaysia could be closer in per capital to Korea, Singapore and Japan.

Under BN we are moving closer to Indonesia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. BN is the most racist of all, they are the one who divide and rule that is worst than what they claim British did.

PKR must put away race politic, must be colour blind and remove religion from politics. We want the most able man to hold office, not by his religion or race. Just like what Malaysian did when they compete for the SEA game, any race can help the country to win gold and not restricted by race. This must be the golden rule and all PKR members should advocate by pledging it five time a day facing Merdeka Square. “We the citizen of Malaysia seek for progress for our nation regardless of race, language or religion. White or black cat, so long as cat that catch rats is good cat”.

  59. cyphuell says:

i like to see this matter as an attempt to create kacau bilau in umno/BN. it is like a cold war. we can see now, pak lah have to meet with sabah/sarawak mp’s, went there to do chit chatting.. their confidence and trust to each other become loose… if what anwar said is really happen, it is a very awaited situation.

  60. Lallang exile says:

    Susan,

Could you please enlighten me on the following questions?

    1) When Anwar was in jail, he said he had “boxes of evidence” against Dr M, Now he’s keeping quiet and says he’s forgiven the old man. What happened to the boxes? What is his agenda for not doing so?
    2) PKR now touting X number of frogs jumped into their pond. This touting show started almost immediately after the polls. When are the frogs going on formal exhibit?
    3) Do men of integrity – having won based on their party’s platforms – change allegiance and alliance so casually? Or have they morphed into chameleons after being put into a spell by the chameleon wizard king?

Do we the rakyat want such people to govern us? After 30 years, have we not learnt and suffered enough? Are we being used to be abused later? Again? Please wake up everyone, peel the wool – spinned by very able spin doctors – from your eyes…….

The unforgettable lines from Annie Lennox’s “Sweet Dreams” comes into mind.

Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to be abused……..

  61. limkamput says:

    Noor Aza Othman,

Stop screaming in CAPS!!!! Nobody listens to rubbish anyway.

  62. flyer168 says:

    Dear All,
As they say “Talk is cheap”, so much rethorics…..
So let us all walk our talk.

Just my 20 cents worth….. With all the bickerings going on in BN whilst in denial mode & leaders jocking for PMship in the sinking ship.

Let us all cool off, sit back, walk our talk & watch the show…..whilst their Autopilot is on “Self Destruct” mode…..guess what….Let them drown & then Malaysia, its rayaat & its remaining assets will be SAVED !

  63. wits0 says:

limkamput, nobody cares for changeling troll…that means you! Not here or at Lim Kit Siang’s blog.
