Yes, DAP/PKR/PAS coalition – better put some thought into this as you guys are given 4 years to be trained to acquire all the skills and learning that you need – after that you need to take up the position when we totally obliterate BN in GE13.

I know that seems like a tall order from the rakyat – if you don’t plan and strategise, you cannot achieve objective.

By the way, I think all those Ministers/Deputies in the Prime Minister’s Department are redundant positions – itu boli drop lah, just empire building to make the PM’s dept look big and important only.

  2. Penang Exile says:

Gan – Shadow cabinets don’t work that way. Their main purpose is to mark each minister like in football and to maneuver them into committing mistakes and gaffes and embarassing the BN as a whole for the next 5 years. Needless to say, the shadow minister has to have all the relevant facts at his/her fingertips, be a master of parliamentary procedure and have studied Hansard from cover to cover to find out what the minister in question had said about particular issues in previous parliamentary sessions. That way the shadow minister can point out inconsistencies or deviations and corner the minister in question.

i admit i am a baby when it comes to politic (my interest was re-sparkled by the GE) , hence i couldnt name too many names. This will be a good test for those old guns/veterans out there for knowing who’s who in malaysian politics.

(hopefully, no more multiple ministerial posts all roll up to 1 single person, that’s sampah policy as far as I am concerned, probably stems fr a feeling of insecurity deep inside)

wat i’d like to see also is for each individual MP to act more like a man, stand up and answer to the nation, have some style lah… The PM can’t be making announcements on their behalf every niamah times.

    Enough said.

    PM – Uncle Anwar
    DPM – Uncle Lim KS

p/s what’s do u call the person who chairs the debates during d parliamentary session? some1 pls do somethig abt him, he’s a complete waste of space and talks like a lalat tht flies above a pile of shit!

    CABINET BOMBSHELL

2 deputy ministers Tengku Azlan Abu Bakar and Anifah Aman turn down their cabinet appointments announced today by Abdullah. A first in the nation’s history. You don’t need to wait for long before the implosion. PKR and DAP and PAS people, be ready. We will take over the government in August.

    One day when our beloved T.Dr Mahaldeal order lightning to stroke on DSAI into jail with his bontot theory;

    Including the correct..correct…correct Linggam Theory.
Beware of this devil and culprit.
The real shadow of him is back through his monarchy.

Hi susan, I would like to suggest that blogers like you are kind enough to compile true history of after merdeka, exacly what had happen in 1351969, Mr Mahaldeal UMNO politic and now since many elderly who are the first hand history source are still alife. For us who born after 1969 and truth for our children too.

  9. I thought that Anwar Ibrahim already had an imaginary cabinet lineup of his own on his mind. He has not reveal it just yet but I think he might do so in next few days just to piss of Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.🙂

I will wait for Anwar’s cabinet lineup first before making any suggestions.

Yes do. Make sure that those chosen are well qualified and able to articulate the ministry he/she represents. The only way to score points (also future votes) is to put the BN guys to shame if they fall flat on their faces. Review individual performance periodically and reshuffle if need be.

Why Pak Lah Dropped Rafidah Aziz From Cabinet

“… Menurut sumber dalaman Umno, Muhyiddin Yassin dan Rafidah Aziz adalah penentang yang paling lantang membantah perlantikkan Khairy Jamaluddin ke dalam kabinet.

So maybe Rafidah’s and the other long-serving ones will be carrying like dunno how many digits in their net-worth…. you have any news on this yet?

  19. padmanathan says:

PM says they have a comfortable majority. Possibly they are planning a celeberation by asking the UMNO putras to drop a Proton Waja at the south pole. Should they plan this I wish to ask Barisan Rakyat to spy on this and make sure the 5 Hindraf ISA detainees (who did them much damage) are not concealed inside the Waja so as to get rid of them for ever.

Last nite while channer-surfing i caught a lil debate on Awani(501). The guest in studio was some Dr Rafiq(did not get the full name) and on the line(telephone guest) was the Tan Sri Thamby Chik guy(can never rmber his first name). Thamby Chik(UMNO) kept talking May 13 and was getting a lil emotional wen commenting to the extend of ignoring the commentators trying to post him the next question – my god, this was the closest we could have ever gotten to a debate! Hahaha! The Dr Rafiq was instead talking bout the irrelevance of May 13 in today’s Msian history and that May 13 shud NOT be used as a reference. To this the Thamby Chik got heated up! Hahahahaha! Towards the end of the show(was a half hour program i presume) the Dr kind of overlapped as the Tan Sri was speaking as well- wahh this was good man!! I enjoyed it tho jus a glimpse.

Does anyone here know who this Dr Rafiq(if i had got the name correct that is) really is? He sounded like a political analyst(his comments).

Brilliant analysis by an exrtemely learned high flying analyst:

This is clear indication that Khalid Ibrahim is about to vacate his parliamentary seat of Bandar Tun Razak for Anwar Ibrahim to contest. Expect this at end of April 2008 when Anwar will by then have completed his period of legal embargo on participating in elections!

The by-election should be a sight to witness. Don’t expect UMNO to sit quietly while Anwar attempts to waltz into parliament.

    The roads lay
    Crafted in JKR way
So many working on a same job
You wonder the wastage of money
    The taxpayers screaming silently

So many ministers in pm’s department
Doing what I don’t even know
Over-lapping of jobs I am sure
The sleeping beauty wants to sleep some more

    Enlisted old guards
    Thinking some know his style
A touch of base his own reality
He wants support within his surrounding

Now the ministers have to attend Parliament
This is good measure I support it
Now is the time the ministers prove their worth
Handling the portfolios entrusted to them
No more running away in some hideout
Discussing own affairs forgetting about their roles
    To tell and answer questions
    To the people representatives

I am afraid the old guards
    They make the damage already
Carrying baggage of unsolved problems and PR
The sleeping beauty will stare at his defeat
    In Parliament…………

    The ground has swelled
The rumbling will be turned into in time
    When the opportunity comes
The sleeping beauty won’t know what hit him
He will surely cry looking in the mirror
The writing is already on his wall

    He never wants to listen
    He never wants to learn
Only out through the exit doors
    He will understand…..

A Shadow Cabinet should be such an obvious move that I’ve always been puzzled why DAP stopped making one after the 80s (or was it the 90s?).

One key thing the opposition must do is have a very much streamlined cabinet instead, merging as many portfolios as possible and then having Deputy Shadow Ministers for the bigger ministries like Defense or MITI.

The Opposition could very much impress people more with a smaller cabinet and should show some logic in its appointment as well, instead of it being candies handed out to trick-or-treaters demanding entitlement due to party positions.

  24. pauwauwow says:

    Agree with Oster.
For DSAI, this needs to be part of his ‘PM-in-waiting’ priorties.
Really like the idea from Bamboo River that OKC be shadowed by Fong Po Kuan! Muhamad2Taib needs someone to track him: activities and $$.
Anybody knows why so many Ministers in PM’s Dept (other than to angkat PM)?

  25. Harrison bin Hansome says:

Pak Lah dropped Rafidah Aziz-looks good.

Son-in-law not named in the new cabinet-looks good.

When somethin that looks too good, then it’s no good. Refreshing my memory about Bodohwi’s call for Royal Malaysian Commission that entails the IPCMC
which until today, have not manifested.

And AAB recently regulated that all Deputies and Ministers have to declare thier assets. M2M was appointed a Minister. Need I say more….

  26. bamboo river says:

HBH –Son-in-law not named in the new cabinet-looks good

    HBH,
if PM appoint his SIL into the list , then he has to seriously consider Mukhriz. If not, the consequences will be like 8 Richter scale from all Pro-Tun M people.

Probably the letter by Mukhriz is a strategy. PM may have decided to appoint both his SIL and Mukhriz into the cabinet (SIL -Minister & Mukhriz Deputy Minister) but…..that is what the Pro-Tun M doesn’t want. SIL to be cabinet Minister. So, submit a letter and make it public.

    Dear Susan,

I agree with VK Lim[s post.
I think we don’t need a “shsdow cabinet” per se. We do need close tabs on key ministries like finance, economics, education and home affairs, etc. And the Prime Minister, of course.

These are the portfolios that really matter and directly affect the rakyat.
The Tony Puas and Jeff Oois, combined with the Khailds and PAS professionals – and of course the blogging community including yourself – could expose and check the BN ministers.

Also, when mega deals or earth shattering policies (like the introduction of the Official Secrets Act (OSA) laws in the late 80s) are proposed, the Opposition should monitor them closely from the beginning. Maybe they should appoint someone to just monitor the tendering processes involved.

What about our toothless tiger the ACA? Ask our dear PM whether it is possible to give it some teeth! Like reporting straight to someone like our fearless, beloved Raja Nazrin, who would not be beholden to anyone.

My mind is full of cattleyas, cymbidiums and dendrobiums after the flower show where I asked some professionals how to get rid of scale insects starting to appear in my prized plants. The answer: take action immediately, eliminate everyone of them(scale insects) by mouthwash and cleaning each leaf and stem by hand. Never let it spread within itself or to another plant since it multiplies very rapidly and will get out of control. Then, it will be too late and other plants will also be infected and die. Sounds strangely similar, doesn’t it?

Cheers !( for our PM for dropping the fat lady and some others)
