In a country where the judiciary is in shambles, and lawyers get arrested, justice is no longer justice but a tragedy.

Our prisons are no longer only for criminals, the truth is, our entire justice system is behind bars.

Below: Photo from Malaysiakini. These four lawyers were arrested for defending the demolishment of houses and places of worship.

If you get in trouble with the law in Malaysia, may the universe have mercy on you!

Lets be patient to hear what Bar Council and Lord President have to say. These are their fellowmen in law. Who is better to reveal the real truth…then lawyers themselves.
Lawyers do break the law…like police inspectors caught taking huge bribes.
Lawyers have from time to time been proven… not that noble nor law abiding citizens.
But it is great Susan being this up….hungry for justice and truths.

I am sorry for your temples. I am sorrier bcoz no one came to your aid. Not even mic. ppp.

Where is samy vellu? kayveas? pandithan? jaclyn victor? Anybody…

Between a temple and a toll booth, which one do you you think sammy will defend? Sammy made his choice, the indians are paying the price. Again and again and again…

    Sad… just sad.

The Bar behind bars and still they’ll vote similarly next time around. Don’t think many gets it.

  5. […] News posted here as well: Temple demolition leads to all-out fracas (Subscription needed) Blood and Mayhem Against Kg Rimba Settlers – Baton Beatings, Knife Stabs, Gun Shots Justice behind bars, a Malaysian tragedy […]

It is sad..very sad…seeing that temple being demolish…but this is not the first time. Buddhist temples were torn down too to make way for important roads or developments….but the government do offer alternative sites…don’t they? They do give long notice before demolishing it ……don’t they?
Samy Vellu claims to represent ALL Indians. Why so quiet? So is Kyveas.
If the Indian political parties are ignoring….others may feel minding business of Indian affairs may back fire.
I am waiting for more news.
Hate to jump to wrong conclusion.

I can concur with Monsterball’s opinion when he quoted :-“Lawyers have from time to time been proven… not that noble nor law abiding citizens”.

But certainly not the case of the four lawyers arrested here, at least to say for their cause.

And in one of Steven Gan of Malaysiakini’s editorial, he requote a Sicilian proverb “If you are blind, mute and deaf, you can live for another hundred years” (partial extract only) which he meant to reflect if you are a whistleblower, you will end up in cold storage or ended up in Kem Kamunting.

And if this is the USA, Raja Petra Kamarudin has already been awarded a “Medal of Honour”.

Well, having signed the petition to the Agong with my IC, I am awaiting my turn enjoying free meals
at Kem Kamunting and if you guys care to drop by if I am detained, and if it’s not so hard to draw out from your wallets or purses, please smuggle in some biscuits for me coz I am damn sure that it certainly taste better than the “curry-rice” there.

    Thank You In Advance.

    Yours sincerely,

    Harrison Bin Hansome

That venue was just a stone throw away from my office!
    Opposite Puspakom at Sungai Rasah.

The Police ,FRU,GOF,Town council,Syabas and TNB staff total about 1000.
Roadblocks and of course traffic jam in the morning.
No vehicles allowed to stop along that road.

In fact this is the second operation. The first was a bit violent with police helicopter hovering for about 3 hours a few years ago.

Keadilan was there but nothing much can be done. It was a very well planned operation. All entrance blocked.

Oh ya, Jean ,…samy velu was there during the demolition, but the reception from the victims was not warm lah…kena kutuk. So our friend pusing balik. He claimed he was unaware about this based on the stories from the people there.

A few people including the police was injured .Don’t know much inside situation but we knew a few lawyers was detained for obstructing the law. Question is what law and whose law?

Metal of honor for the lawyers, but there seem to be more pressing issues:

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Malaysia’s Muslim men are suffering sleepless nights and cannot pray properly because their thoughts are distracted by a growing number of women who wear sexy clothes in public, a prominent cleric said.

Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, the spiritual leader of the opposition Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, said he wanted to speak about the “emotional abuse” that men face because it is seldom discussed, the party reported on its Web site Wednesday.,2933,306658,00.html

Just got the wind from one of my staff formerly residing that area. According to him , the authorities had given ample notice and offered subsidised low cost flat. That was even during the first operation I mentioned earlier.
My staff was the first group who took the offer. Now he is waiting to move in to a new low cost flat somewhere end of this year, which is just nearby.

For this second operation , the balance of the first demolition, most of the remaining tenants opted to fight the case in court. Some are asking for monetary compensation.

However , their case was thrown out. So,the authorities had given another advance notice for them to move out.
In fact, almost all all them had moved before the operation.
I don’t know wether the incident is political or otherwise. Too many stories coming out from everyones’ mouth.

As Monty said, long notice could have been given out ? Yes, that is true.

So, it is a matter of one hand is giving the other is asking for more.

`We are unable to understand how a Court Order which was issued about 3 years ago was not notified to the places of worship. It is a duty of the land owner to have issued proper notices to the occupants well before the time of demolishing to the occupants the houses and the management committees of the respective places of worship. We would like to know why this was not complied with. `

  13. wits0 says:

“it is a matter of one hand is giving the other is asking for more.”

Expected and factored in but why prevent airing of such matters in the MSM by ministerial decree? So common in developing world like in China. To hide bad handling by the authorities and administration isn’t it?

  14. wits0 says:

Nik’s “emotional abuse”? First, by way of fundamentalist OT Mosaic ways, old humsup chap, there is something written about cutting out one’s eyes if they sin one. If not up to it, don’t just blame and pass the responsibility. Misogyny ain’t frienly even when it comes with a smile and icing.

More decent way is to hear what this dissident saudi sez:

“..if you don’t cover your face and hair, you actually look like a woman…”
