compiled 100 of the most influential blogs in Malaysia by using Technochrati, and came up with ’50 top blogs’. In his post, he explains why he uses technocrati to gauge the influential level of blogs and how he arrived at his analysis.

We must thank Sabahan for his efforts. Briefly, see the list of ‘influential’ blogs inside:

That most of the blogs on this list fall into the “personal stuff” category, should not come as a big surprise. Most people don’t care about politics, and I guess this applies to bloggers as well. In Malaysia, where the climate has turned very hostile towards political bloggers, it is, alas, only to be expected that bloggers shy away from political topics.

Actually, it is a nice surprise to find both kickdefella and Susan on the list, and both Jeff and Rocky even made it into the top ten! This proves that political blogs really have an impact in Malysia, and, i suspect, that the bloggers united campaign has had a huge effect. Frankly, I’m impressed! Keep up the good work!

  2. This is my first visit to your blog.
I know Rocky from our days of sparring on the green velvets even before he left for the UK. That was, many years ago.
In the past three years, my wife and I were put in a very difficult position, and also during this time, I got myself immersed into the scope of things as far as she was concerned. She was terminated by MAS for having our third child. Both Audra and I, are very much into current affairs, but this trying times that we are going through just zapped the daylights out of us.
Being advised by the Union (Malaysia AIrlines Employees Union) does not do us any good either, cos, inside the EXCO there seems to be two camps.
Neither of which are doing justice to their positions! Hence, I turned to blogging. Slowly, I am telling each and every visitor, in most blogs, I just leave a comment or two, hoping that some publicity will come our way.
The Old paper that cares seems to care no more!
I hope that you can propagate this to your visitors, and just take notice, how such a policy can still be enforced in this day and age!!
It pains me to note that my fellow mankind no longer sees this as a battle worth fighting.

  3. heh…KennySia is the no. 1 blogger from Malaysia.
well, that is quite true. I am a student in Perth, where he studied, many people actually look up to this blog about guides about food in Perth.
it might be outdated, but some of the places that he stated in his blog is still here.
he really helped me look for places to eat and places to go to when i just arrived in perth.
i guess he deserves to be no. 1

It’s an interesting but not particularly accurate post, as the term he used is influential and not popular.

And even then the term popular might be far stretched as some of the top ranking blogs have their ranking due to free WordPress themes they made, not popularity or influence.

BTW I need more links 😉

  5. Thanks Susan for your understanding.
Kindly email to for pdf files of press coverage to press releases from WAO, AWAM,SIS, and those who were there initially.
Unfortunately, now in the final stretch, where doom looms nearer, there seem to be no one in sight.
February 21st 2007 is the mention in the Kuala Lump0ur Industrial courts. Some weeks ago, we were told that the file to strike out the discriminating totally biased collective agreement was unsuccessful seeing that it is an agreement between two private entities. Here I would like to highlight that MAS is a public entity, with Khazanah Malaysia (wholly owned by the Malaysian Govt – 100%) owning 63% of MAS.
    Ironic? Or Pathetic? I don’t know anymore…
Thanks again. As soon as I get your email, I will forward you as much articles as I can, including those of Beatrice Fernandez, and Sheila Devi, all of whom lives were ruined by this stinking policy!
