Kena marah today…from a PKR hardcore.

I got a call from a PKR hardcore this afternoon. She ticked me off for writing the story on Anwar being absent from Penang.

She asked why we (as in Malaysiakini) wouldn’t leave her boss alone! She said we gave the impression that he was trying to run away or avoid the questions journalists wanna ask him here.

I told her it was all her imagination, something to that effect…that it was only her feeling, while it was not my intention to make her boss look like that.

That we just want people to know, his supporters especially, that their idol (though they may think he is perfect, invincible) is a bit under the weather and was not going to make it for his tour here.

A much awaited tour, especially after the heated Sarawak state election, his trip to London, and Japan?

Wouldn’t it be worse if people speculate about his absence?

She said it was better if people speculated so that they (Pkr) could explain it…duh!

She was also unhappy about Malaysiakini always using the Anwar look alike 1.47 minute clip images in our stories whenever we report on the controversial sex tape.

It’s not exactly a sex tape, after all, Zaid Ibrahim actually pointed out, corrected us even that it was merely “a documentary”.

OK now you can slap me!

Anyway, the poor woman said it was OK for Utusan Malaysia etc to do it (splash that Anwar look alike with man-tits images all over their paper) but us???

Us…Malaysiakini, jumping on the same bandwagon to denigrate Anwar?

Wanna tell her that if people can accept the haunting but ‘doctored’ images of Najib Razak with Abdul Razak Baginda and deceased Altantuya Sharibuu whenever we write about submarines and the murder, PKR supporters have to accept Anwar’s too.

And that it is just too bad…even if Anwar farts, we may write a story coz he’s such a hot news item.

By the way, he is said to be in the ICU (harakah report) – hope he is up and ready to go again! We so need a little dose of Anwar from time to time…

But the phone got cut off lah…and neither of us called the other back :=)
