It has been a known fact that Malysia’s intelligence agencies, including those from the PM’s department, have been actively involved in regional conflicts. Their level of involvement includes giving armed insurgents a base in this country and financial assistance.
We even provide financial assistance to the Bosnian people when they were fighting the Serbs.
So maybe our armed forces were not involved in regional conflicts, but our intelligence services were involved, but by how much, I don’t know.

KUALA LUMPUR: After almost 13 years in political limbo, Wee Choo Keong is seeking RM39 million in damages from MBf Holdings Bhd and AmBank.
This follows loss of income that Wee claimed to have suffered when he was disqualified as a member of parliament in 1995, damages for being unable to contest in the 1999 general election, and losses in professional standing as a lawyer.

Pakatan Rakyat will hold a referendum on its proposal to give oil-producing states — Sabah, Sarawak, Kelantan and Terengganu — 15 percent of oil royalties when it comes into federal power.

The problem with GST is that once implemented there is no way of remedial ‘reversal’ or even reduction of rates due to inflationary pressures. It is progressive only in terms efficency and evening-out tax distribution amongst the consumers. The most important requirement for this to succeed is a transparent, incorruptible, accountable, efficent and competent government. A gomen that is for the people (not even necessarily by the people) – not as it stands. The gomen coffers are broke right now and khazanah is scrounging around.
Malaise’ is not ready ue to leakages and unbridled greed & corruption.
The gouging and profiteering will be inimical to a ‘high income’ dream. Implementation and monitoring will be horrendously difficult due to inefficency.
