New Malaysian taboos: Altantuya, race, religion and royalty

20090330_polisnewrule03

By merdekareview. Najib Tun Razak is doing everything in his power to prevent Pakatan Rakyat from winning the by-elections. To the extend that it seems now, the Opposition will have and can have nothing to say during their ceramahs!

According to Malaysiakini (BM section), these new rules were issued by the police to an assistant of the Sepetang State assembly person Tai Sing Ng when he went to the police station in Taiping.

Another taboo is to speak about decisions made by the royalty. You are never to question these things. So, no matter what, Pakatan Rakyat campaigners cannot explain about the Perak crisis to the people during election campaigns.

I can understand about not speaking about race, religion or royalty. But Altantuya? Why? Isn’t the Altantuya issue worst than race and religion? It involves MURDER! Continue reading

Now that all Najib’s men have won, do we still shout ‘money politics’?

3006e5ab7baefc77381ba9628ceada86Aw, why did Mahathir Mohammad miss the show?

Just because he didnt want to hear Pak Lah snide remarks about him in his speech?

Or is it because he is mad about his baby’s loss in the race for Youth chief?

He would have enjoyed himself today. Najib Tun Razak’s men stole the show today.

So, people, you’ve got your list of leaders for the future!

For the three vice-president posts, the winners are Zahid Hamidi (1,592), Hishammuddin Hussien (1,515) and Shafie Apdal (1,445).

All are seen as new Umno president Najib Abdul Razak’s men.

Mahathir’s baby lost to KJ, boohoo!

animation1 Image by Wits.

So…so…what happens now? It seems Pak Lah’s people are still in UMNO. All the big talk and show by Najib Tun Razak and Mahathir Mohammad seems to have gone down the drain.

Where will Rocky the Bru and Mahathir hide their faces?

Oh ya, Khairy Jamaluddin, the son in law, won by about 52 votes over Khir Toyol, with Mukriz Mahathir lagging behind.

Mahathir will of course say its money politics, and so would all his band of bloggers.

If Mukriz wins, KJ would say the same too. Continue reading

Najib too thick skinned even for a Scorpean’s sting

ship_ssk_scorpene_ohiggins_cutaway_lg

From Defense Industy Daily:

The Franco-Spanish Scorpene diesel-electric attack submarine competes on the global market against an array of competitors, foremost of which is ThyssenKrupp HDW’s U209/212/214 family. In June 2002, the Malaysian government signed a EUR 1 billion contract with Armaris (now DCNS) and Spanish naval shipbuilder Izar (now Navantia) for 2 SSK Scorpenes and associated support and training. The first of class KD Tunku Abdul Rahman has begun trials, and is scheduled to enter service in 2009.

Within Malaysia, the sale has been compromised by an ongoing trial and set of legal actions around the public kidnapping and private execution of Mongolian modeling student, translator, and paramour Altantuya Shaariibuu. The case took a dramatic turn when the victim was closely connected to EUR 114 million in “commission” payments to Perimekar, a firm owned by a close associate of Malaysia’s current Defence Minister and impending Prime Minister. The monies were paid by Armaris (now DCNS) for for “support and coordination services,” a term that may bring to mind the murder of Taiwanese Captain Yin Ching-feng in connection with a bribery scandal involving Taiwan’s DCNS frigates.

Full and impartial accountability for public figures is not a prominent feature of Malaysian justice, but French Journalist Arnaud Dubus added to the pressure with a March 5/09 report in France’s Liberation, “Un cadavre tres derangeant: L’etrange affaire du meurtre d’une interprete mongole qui gene le pouvoir en Malaisie” (Page 30-31). It names very prominent names, offers details, and reveals the contents of documents the Malaysian court has refused to admit… Continue reading

Verbal Diarrhea @ UMNO General ASS-embly

The usual verbal diarhea from Najib Tun Razak at PWTC (59th UMNO Genera Assembly) last night. All I can say is that the speech before the wanita, pemuda and puteri  delegates is TOTALLY UN-INSPIRING.

It has 66 points. Just short of  one 6 (or 666) to make it the speech of the devil himself. But Najib is the 6th PM of Malaysia, so guys, go figure!

There are several flaws as well in the 66 + 6 speech.  Najib, like his mentor Mahathir Mohammad, speaks as if all Malays are UMNO. Malay does not equal to UMNO and soon UMNO wakes up to that reality, the better!

And UMNO did not get the most seats because more people ‘SAYANG’  UMNO, but because seats allocation strategy in Barisan Nasional ensured that UMNO dominates! Continue reading

Kit Siang, when will the Opposition topple Najib?

Many things have been said about UMNO’s incoming prime minister Najib Tun Razak (sorry he is not my prime minister), especially about his crackdown and things to expect during his premiership.

Lim Kit Siang’s media statement today is another. But what I want to know is how will the Opposition  topple Najib if he is going to be such a bad PM? How will they topple UMNO? Any strategies?

I don’t want to hear another story about his crackdowns. It’s all in the media! We know how the situation will be when Najib becomes PM. Think tear gas and FRUs, think police lock up and abuse. Think ISA!

I hope the Opposition should start doing their work as politicians. They are enough journalists around to report on the ‘crackdowns’! Start to think how to topple UMNO! That would make you a great politician.

Now relish this media statement from LKS:

The start of the Najib crackdown?

Are Malaysians seeing the start of the Najib crackdown from events of the past week?

These developments include:

16.3.09: DAP MP for Puchong Gobind Singh Deo suspended for one year in “kangaroo court” proceeding in Parliament without parliamentary pay and privileges for asking the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak whether he was involved in the murder case of Mongolian Altantuya Shariibuu.

17.3.09: DAP National Chairman and MP for Bukit Gelugor Karpal Singh charged under the Sedition Act 1948 for stating that a State Ruler can be brought to court in their official and personal capacities under the Constitution. Continue reading

Is Zaid saying that Najib is involved in the Altantuya affair?

This is an abstract of the speech of former law minister Zaid Ibrahim’s presentation at KL’s Royal Rotary Club. He is almost telling us that we can’t ignore Najib Tun Razak’s “involvement” in the Altantuya Shariibuu case. Najib has to address these issues whether he likes it not. It is not true that he is ‘legally’ cleared of this accusation as his mentor Mahathir Mohamad would like us to believe. Bullshit. If he wants to be legally cleared, go to court. But that will never happen.

Consider this. Commissions were paid to an agent for the procurement of submarines through the Defence Ministry, Najib (then) being the defence minister. It is unthinkable that he had no knowledge that the agent was his adviser and aide, Abdul Razak Baginda. The commission paid out was exceedingly large, in excess of RM400 million.

The defence minister was dutybound to direct enquiries to see if there had been any impropriety in the way the contracts were awarded when news of the commission surfaced; after all the price of the submarines would be considerably lower without the need for such commissions.

Taxpayers, you and I, have paid for those submarines at a price that in all probability factored in the commission. Taxpayers are yet to be told of an inquiry let alone the result of such an inquiry.

Consider the Altantuya Shaariibuu affair. A young woman was brutally murdered, her corpse destroyed by explosives.

These explosives are not the usual type of explosives, yet no inquiry was held to determine how they were available to these killers. Those accused of her murder are police officers serving in the Unit Tindakan Khas, a highly specialised unit who amongst other things serve as bodyguards to the prime minister and the deputy prime minister.

Amidst evidence that the accused were employed to protect the PM and the DPM, they were directed to (Abdul) Razak Baginda through the aide of the deputy prime minister. Amongst other things, we have heard of the senior investigating officer admitting that the deputy prime minister was an important witness and yet no statement was taken. Continue reading

Rosmah Najib’s palm reading

rosmah-simian-line2

(image from Malaysian Insider, cropped and enlarged)

Let’s do a bit of palmistry here. Thanks to Wits0, who brought to my attention that Rosmah Najib has a ‘simian line’- see her palm in the enlarged pixs. Ardent fans of palmistry will know that a simian line (where the headline meets the heartline) spells ‘danger’ to a certain extent.

To know what it means by a simian line, see the humanhand.com (online palmistry reading). It says:

When the Simian Line occurs, the “Great Quadrangle” is entirely missing. There is no distinction between what is desired (the Heart) and what is thought (the Head). The result is an incredible intensity of nature, but a strong tendency to rush into all things without thinking them through. Continue reading

Altantuya’s ghost spotted in Parliament!

ghost20lady

Can a 12 month suspension of MP Gobind Singh drive the ghost of Altantuya away from Parliament?

No sir, it wont. What it will do and has done with the announcement of the suspension today is to revive her spirit.

If some quarters believed Najib Tun Razak and Rosmah Mansor had nothing to do with the heinous crime of blowing out her body, well, with Gobind’s punishment today, some may start to believe that maybe there might be some truth in it.

(image)

Or else, why such an action against an MP? Isn’t 12 months a bit too long? What about his constituency? Wouldn’t this be eventually punishing his people?

Why should Najib be afraid of being called a ‘murderer’? Get Gobind to prove it in Court!

But there are too many unanswered questions about the case and if not cleared up anytime soon, Najib could become a caricature for everything wrong about a Malaysian politician. (Malaysian Insider)

You see, I did not say that. But I am sure that many are thinking on similar lines. The suspension only enforces Gobind’s allegations, it seems. That Najib may have something to fear.

So was it wise to let Gobind Singh have his cake and eat it too, Najib? Continue reading
