I weep over Eli Wong’s resignation

If this is all it takes to destroy a female politician, I am at a loss for words.

This blog mourns for Elizabeth Wong, the Bukit Lanjan state assembly woman who has been pressured to resign because of nude pictures of her being publicly distributed.

The person(s) who did the act of taking her pictures without a consent and distributing it continues to enjoy impunity.

I know it was the party she represented – PKR – who asked her to resign. And that to me, may be a strategic but a most disheartening thing to do.

It gives credence to gutter politics, to sleaze and evil politicking, within and without the party.

As a woman and friend of Eli Wong, I weep over what has happen to her. It will take me sometime to recover for sure.

Najib’s PM-ship and sleazy politics – a coincident?

Like I said in an ealier post, it seems to be an obvious co-incident! The nearer he gets to become PM, the dirtier politics become! Anyway, here’s a statementby women’s groups condemning the politically motivated attack on Elizabeth Wong’s pesonality and privacy.

The Joint Action Group for Gender Equality (*JAG*) is appalled that private, sexually intimate photos of Elizabeth Wong, Assemblyperson for Bukit Lanjan, Selangor, was taken and circulated without her consent.

JAG is very concerned to note that politics is being practised in an
increasingly violent, sensationalised and sexualised manner. We note that in recent months, we have seen the sex tape scandal of Chua Soi Lek, Molotov cocktails being thrown at the house of Teresa Kok and now these photos of Elizabeth Wong being circulated.

These photos are being released at a time when the tussle for power between Barisan National (*BN*) and Pakatan Rakyat (*PR*) is
increasingly intense. Under no circumstance should anyone sink to this low level of politicking. Continue reading

Rape of Elizabeth Wong

eli-wongState assembly woman for Bukit Lanjan is one strong woman.  Although in my opinion, what was dealt to her was in someway akin to sexual assault of the highest order. Truth is, Elizabeth Wong had been RAPED!

That was in essence, what she said here in her statement regarding the issue. (Malaysiakini)

To me it seems her enemies (and who else could it be? She’s a politician from Anwar Ibrahim’s party!) have run out of ideas to destory her.

You see, I don’t think Eli Wong can be bought with 3-4million RM, or that she can be ‘threatened’ to cross over to BN. What better way to destroy her?

Probably, this is just a first of a series of assault that would take happen to Pakatan Rakyat’s MPs, State assemblypersons, supporters, etc.

But on the other hand, as Jed Yoong pointed out in the comment section (and which I actually mentioned to Elizabeth in the morning), it could also be “an enemy within” – power struggle within the party, etc. It is possible, given the current situation in Pakatan politics.

I spoke to her at 7am on Sunday morning and she was still in high spirits! She was already in the office!  I told her not to give in to such gutter politics. That I would stand with her.

It was really very early but Eli Wong already knew that there would be calls for her resignation. Hmm…Khir Toyo? Continue reading

A fool becomes PM on April fool’s day

HAHAHA!

Or would you rather this:  Mr. C4 becomes PM with a big blassssssssttt on April fool’s day!

Now, that should have been the title on Malaysian Insider instead of a boring one like:

Pak Lah era ends on March 31 as Najib steps in as sixth PM

What a drag.  Hey, if you need an editor, I am for hire! What about this:

“Pak Lah never entertained the idea of going back on his word once he accepted it was the wish of Umno members for leadership change,” the source said (according to the paper, often dubbed as Pak Lah’s insider).

Who is this bloody source? Pak Lah is a FLIP FLOP.  How many times has he gone back on his words? Continue reading

Who is Khairy to ask Nizar to be banished from Perak?

SHOCKING! ?….But er, not really….

Khairy Jamaluddin the Son in Law, was trying desperately to win back the hearts of the UMNO fools. He asked PAS MB Nizar to be banished from the state. Arrogance, isn’t it?

It doesn’t help to follow the ways of Najib Tun Razak and Mahathir Mohammad!

This is from Malaysian Insider:

Nothing said at the rally yesterday (by Khairy Jamaluddin the Son in Law, especially) would have helped broker a resolution of the political crisis. It was a show of power and language which was:

• Provocative: Since when did Umno/Barisan Nasional politicians decide who should be banished from a state? Who gave Umno Youth politicians auxiliary police powers to provide a ring of security around the state government’s building? Continue reading

Perak BN MB “buys” his way into the people’s hearts

Could he? I am not sure. But lots of money are being thrown at the Indians and Chinese in Perak. Daylight corruption. And all these are acceptable?

From Malaysian Insider:

So far,  (Perak BN menteri besar) Zambry has been promising money wherever he goes and sticking to a scripted line which bears similarities to Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi oft-quoted “I am the prime minister for all Malaysians.”

This morning (Sunday), Zambry also went to the same temple as (Perak PAS menteri besar) Nizar, in an attempt to pull the rug from under Nizar, and became, according to locals, the first MB from Barisan to ever step foot in the temple.

He announced an immediate allocation of RM100,000 for the Thaipusam celebrations. Continue reading

Kedah is next?

That’s what I’ve been hearing. Rumours abound, what with BN looking for more ‘victims’ and willing cross overs.

Kedah is vulnerable, too. They say, Kedah is  next to come crumbling down, just like Perak. And so is every Pakatan Rakyat state.

The PR lot better look closer at their people. But serve them right, too, for always being so boisterous whenever there is a cross over from BN – whether UMNO, Gerakan, or MCA.

People say ‘padan muka’. Because what do you expect? Once a frog, always a frog. Continue reading

Please don’t banish me from Perak…

Got this message from one of the top guys in the local newspapers:

“Be careful with what you post on the Sultan, especially remarks which could smear his royal personage. I’m sure the SB and eager beavers from Umno will be scouring blogs and other writings to find some victims to string up … and with Umno assembly next month … anything can happen. Remember, you were born in Perak and the sultan can banish you from the state ….” Continue reading
