This MALAYSIAN group Estrella is quite amazing. I love their song ‘Stay’ – really sweet and mushy of course but so what. Am in the mood for LOVE, great LOVE.
I LOVE HUMAN RIGHTS!
Ps. Thanks to Jennifer Mourin for introducing this clip to me

If indeed it is murder, then here we go again. Another murder case involving the police. The Altantuya case, which isn’t even over yet, also involves two policemen – from the elite forces some more.
The very institution that is supposed to protect citizens has turned against it?
‘Pagar makan padi’. That’s the way it seems to be when we see these cases turning up.
I hope the deceased and his family get the justice they deserve.
But that too is hmm…quite depressing to think of it actually. Because we hardly see success cases, really.

Hey everyone,
Enjoy the LUNAR NEW YEAR ok? Put less money in your angpows (better still insert just a wish, a blessing, or a kind prayer on a red paper and wish your friend ‘Great Luck’).
It’s the thought that counts. Because I am beginning to feel the chill as stories of the economic crisis sweeping over the world is like a cold wind.
And I don’t think Obama-rama-mama-karma is gonna help much!
But life is a cycle and sufferings or happiness are but temporary. So I wish you all GONG XI FA CAI.
And hope the year of the OX brings you a really bullish year:)
Why? Does the statement mention the name of a certain VVIP?
In a major setback today for the defence in the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder trial, Justice Datuk Mohd Zaki Md Yasin denied them access to the witness statement of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s former aide-de-camp DSP Musa Safri. (Malaysian Insider)

Isn’t this a boring photo on Obama’s great day as Boss of the world? No doubt it is a photo by AP? But why did Malaysian Insider choose to post it?

What better way to welcome the new President of America!

Dear folks, I’ve been away on a serious, heavy 3 day conference on human rights in Bangkok. So sorry for no updates on this blog.
I met two Johns, though, and lucky for their presence, my days failed to be super boring.
They are John Liu, from SUARAM (right), and the other is John Tan (left) from Singapore. Since you probably heard about SUARAM, let me tell you about John Tan.
He spent Christmas in jail last year in Singapore (15days) for wearing a T-shirt with a kangaroo in a judge’s robe.
Hahaha! Mighty creative. But what a reaction from the government of Singapore, eh.
Singapore isn’t all those tourism packages tell you, I am sure you know. But some people do think it is paradise on earth for this part of Asia. Continue reading

So far, PAS spiritual leader Nik Aziz, made the BEST comment about the party’s victory at the Kuala Terengganu by-election on Saturday. Respect. Such humility.
And maybe he wants to rein in his junior and firebrand leaders (whose foolhardy ways can really bring down PAKATAN RAKYAT, if not PAS).
But briefly, here’s what Tok Guru said:
“…be “a gracious winner” and not utter snobbish remarks that could hurt the feelings of those who lost…Don’t hurt the feelings of opponents because if they are hurt, it will be difficult for us to convince them of our struggle” (Bernama).
So, Pakatan, get down to work. The fireworks are over. By election alone can’t assure you of success if you don’t do as Nik Aziz says. And it’s not because you’re so great that you won in KT, but BN is THAT bad.
Still, 30,000 people voted for them. This must surely not to be taken lightly.
The worst statement must come from old man Mahathir Mohamad. I read it with disgust, and for any newspaper to print such statements, must only indicate the level of idiocy the newspaper industry has descended too. Continue reading

Kotak=box. But where are they, Ezam?
Got this in the mail today and felt it extremely funny.
Hahaha!
Have a good Sunday

(Najib to Lah, after BN kalah in KT: Apa nak buat, duit tak cukup, lagi pun, dengar PAS bawa ramai pengundi hantu dari Mongolia!) – Hahaha, it’s only humor, ok.
PAS WINS in Kuala Terengganu!
Got it from Malaysiakini!
9.10pm: According EC official tally: PAS (32,393 votes), BN (29,969), Independent (191) with two more boxes to be tallied. The majority so far is 2,424.
Where are the BN fellas!?
Najib, next Prime Minister, hello?
So, how now?
Hudud or no hudud, PAS wins.
Cash or no cash, PAS wins.
Najib, hello? Datuk Seri? Hello?
Can be PM in March or not? Continue reading
That is what people keep asking me? I really can’t tell.
What I know is DPM Najib Tun Razak is desperate to win the Kuala Terengganu by-election.
How could he lose this little by-election when he is just days away from becoming Prime Minister?
And UMNO itself has admitted there are money politics.
Logic can give you the right answers.
Voters claim they’ve got cash. Journalists claim they’ve got envelopes.
But the Information Ministry has denied any involvement in this.
There were times during ceramahs (political talks) that I attended that PAS speakers say these offers were ‘rezeki’ (good luck), so take what is being given and vote with your heart.
Would you have done that? Continue reading
