Bloggers Unite for Human Rights
While the words might change from country to country and are sometimes taken for granted, human rights represent one of the universally agreed upon ideas — that all people are born with basic rights and freedoms that include life, liberty, and justice. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations
Bloggers Unite For Human Rights challenges bloggers everywhere to help elevate human rights by drawing attention to the challenges and successes of human rights issues on May 15. What those topics may include — the wrongful imprisonment of journalists covering assemblies, governments that ignore the plight of citizens, and censorship of the Internet. What is important is that on one day, thousands of bloggers unite and share their unified support of human rights everywhere.
HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE:
Before May 15th, add a badge to your blog and spread the word.
On May 15th get the word out and blog about a human rights issue!
Spread the love, share your post in the Bloggers Unite Group.

Susan, I am with you, side by side. After all, this is one of the most neglected aspects in Bolehland. Will the newly emerged UMNO VIP bloggers and Chedet contribute to the holy spirit of upholding RAKYAT’s right? I wonder. We shall wait and see.

raj…..get over it man, lets get back to the main issue, human rights for those illegally detained under ISA.
The fires of dissent have been lit, we are just waiting for the stew to boil over.
I don’t think that the government is sensible enough to simply release the Hindraf 5, I think something else big has to happen to act as a catalyst to trigger that off.
And I sense that “something else big” is going to happen soon.

Ah Long, it seems to me that the Gomen has not released the Hindraf 5 i mainly because it thinks that its action will cast fear into protestors and will lose face if it does. Part and parcel of the old ways of repressive thinking that will work against itself instead.

Come May 5th I shall light 5 candles.
1 - for all the tortured, missing, children, our silent victims
2 - for all the oppressed, abused women out there, in living hell
3 - for all the political refugees in our country, thousands of Myanmars living in deplorable conditions and hiding in fear for their lives
4 - for all the ISA detainees, may they get justice
5 - for all the Minorities of Malaysia, may they have equal rights one day
God knows 500 more candles should be lit on Human Rights day but let me just start first in our own backyard.
