fong-po-kuan.jpg , Lim Kit Siang or Malaysiakini?

The whole affair leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Fong is an excellent MP. I saw her perform in Parliament and she is kind to everyone. She is dynamic and smart, not to  mention courageous.

But as of now, I am confused to whose version is for real.

Politic, politic…glad I am out of it.

The 3 versions:

1. Malaysiakini’s interpretation of events:  Malaysiakini reported on Feb 15 that Fong Po Kuan was being pressured by the state leadership to relinquish the Batu Gajah seat and contest elsewhere. Apparently the party wants to let the Pantai Remis state representative Nga Kor Ming to contest in Batu Gajah. Perak DAP chairperson Ngeh Koo Ham however denied forcing out Fong;

2. Fong Po Kuan - She refuses to contest in the coming General Elections – accusing DAP of “development of internal party events in the DAP Perak over the last few years as well as currently” made it “impossible for me to continue serving effectively, efficiently and wholeheartedly. Under such circumstances and in the best interest of all concerned, I have arrived at this unavoidable and difficult decision”.

Or;

3. Lim Kit Siang :

The party never asked Po Kuan to change constituencies, as all party leaders had expected and fully supported her to contest for the third time in the Batu Gajah parliamentary seat.

This is definately not the time to squabble. We have seen Fong proved
her worth in Parliment. Well Mr. Lim Sr. if what you say is true then get her to contest in Batu Gajah.

Fong Poh Kuan, apa lu mau, banyak membebel, dalam parlimen saya tahu lu selalu angkat buku kata peraturan, peraturan mesyuarat, tapi tak juga jadi jaguh, sekarang baru lu cerita macam-macam tau takl lama akan masuk hari undi, mengapa, ada apa-apa kah, atau orang sudah beli sama lu macam itu Lee Lam Tye yang sekarang pakai Datuk jadi tali barut kerajaan secara senyap-senyap. Lu pun mahu datuk kah, kalau mahu senyap-senyap keluar, jangan banyak bebel sampai berbuih mulut. Kalu mau cerita cerita selepas undi nanti, kalau buka mulut luas luas sekarang orang anggap lu sudah termakan budi entah dari BN atau konco konconya. Lu sudah 2 penggal jadi MP tarak cukup kah, kasi peluang sama orang lain, macam lu satu orang yang paling hebat di Batu Gajah, jangan lah ini macam nanti itu gajah batu pun hidup dan lari masuk hutan takut sama lu punya bebel. 8 tahun lu cari makan jadi MP dalam DAP sekarang mahu buat hal pulak. Kalau tak suka keluar saja lah, apa cerita sini cerita sana. Saya tahu lu banyak penyokong, tapi bila lu keluar DAP semua akan hilang tau. Adat manusia serupa saja, bila ada pangkat dan duit semua jadi kawan bila hilang kuasa maka hilang semua kawan. Lu sudah kahwin baik pergi enjoy life.

It is very difficult to know whose version is best to be true. Politics and business. Most rivals are trying to “kill-off” one another.

Remember that males are also the ones who always defended the distaff-sides whenever they are under onslaught. Remember the 2 “Bochormen”?

Trust me, a woman will always say “Respect women’s Right” in defence whether fair or otherwise, but when it comes to rivalling a relationship, women are tended to bad-mouth another to get thier man.

Now, who’s giving women orgasm(s) anyway? A dildo?

  5. wits0 says:

I think LKS has a lot of clarification to do apart from what he has blogged on the matter. The timing of this PK’s withdrawal is definitely ill-timed and the repercussion will do nothing for the DAP’s image.

  6. bamboo river says:

DAP has a lot to explain but considering the history of this party ………..Lee Lam Thye,Hu Sepang, Kerk ,Wee and now Fong Poh Kuan, very sad lah.
MCA is dropping incumbent veterans this coming GE to make way for so called young blood.(that is MCA reasons lah)

The opposition party DAP is now losing young and capable members like FPK.
This is really a disadvantage to the oppositions and I am sure BN is going to use this as benchmark to thumb opposition candidates.

Politics , be it office politics, factory politics, family politics…..there are always two camps ,as long as the word politic is mentioned, the conclusion is always…politic lah, you know lah, anything can happen lah, just becareful lah.

Lastly , if Miss Fong decided it is final, I wish her all the best and Thank you for your service to the rakyat.
    The question now…to DAP…anymore surprises?

  7. whispering9 says:

Luckily some would still vote for the Oppositions despite such frequent enough last minute ruckus. Simply because “The enemy of my enemy is my friend”. But further such episode my motto can be rewritten as “The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy”. Fools :P

FPK, oh FPK… you are “dynamic and smart, not to mention courageous.” But you are so yesterday. You should be stupid, lazy and a coward. Its the “in” thing right now. Do that and you may well be on your way to be our first lady PM.

But hey, I’ll give you my vote any time if you decide to contest in Ijok. Even if you are MIC. I love your personality.

See, I am not that cruel.

  11. Harrison bin Hansome says:

I agree with commenter with the “love handle””Please be fair, Susan” om his/her 1st para:-

“It is very difficult to know whose version is best to be true. Politics and business. Most rivals are trying to “kill-off” one another.”

    About that “thing”. Ah, Nevermind…

  12. Damocles says:

There is no time for inane discussions.
Someone must get her to stand as a candidate again, by hook or by crook!

  13. It seems that the DAP internal political crisis is very very serious now. As the old saying, power corrupts itself and absolute power corrupts absolutely. DAP not yet becoming the dominant party but power struggle has overshadow the party slogan – Malaysian Malaysia. The question remains, can the Malaysian support DAP?

It would appear that women make only great leaders after menopause. Eg Indira Ganhdi, Margarette Thatcher, Golda Meir etc.
This is because many of human and animal behaviors are dictated by the homones.

As for Ms Fong, I would advise her to overlook nitpicking individuals and issues and look at the greater pictures.

But then her action could be none of the above. We shall see.

  15. bamboo river says:

It would appear that women make only great leaders after menopause. Eg Indira Ganhdi, Margarette Thatcher, Golda Meir etc.
This is because many of human and animal behaviors are dictated by the homones.- Simon Wee.

You got that info from National Geography Science ahhh?
    What crap!

  16. simon wee says:

    Dear bamboo river,

If it is crap, give your logic and reasoning why it is so. Don’t just sweep it away as crap.just because you can’t find it in “National Geography Science”. Like I have said previously those who argue with expletives and namecalling are those with very few things up stairs. Likewise those who can’t find it in “National Geography Science” and conveniently label it as crab could be suffering from the same gray-matter deficiency.

If you want to take on what I say, please do it reasoning with facts and I will salute you. If not…

    Simon Wee

  17. bamboo river says:

Simon, please substantiate your claim ..”It would appear that women make only great leaders after menopause. ”

That sweeping statement is not acceptable to me personally.I don’t think my opinion on your statement is considered “suffering from the same gray-matter” as you said it.
    Thank you.

  18. simon wee says:

    Dear bamboo river,

Please take up proper English lessons first before you take on others based on what is said in English. I said “it would appear” and gave examples of three women leaders who made it after their menopause.

On you part instead dismissing it with a word crap you should give your examples that this is not always so. This is what blogging is all about.

    regards

    Simon

  19. bamboo river says:

Simon , wahhhh, my english is always not proper one .
Since you said my english is not proper. I don’t even think my english is good.

But I reckoned your remark is too sexist and
kind like that Jasin ‘BOCOR’ MP.

  20. simon wee says:

Lets put bamboo river’s allegation about my remark being sexist to vote.

My contention is that it is an observation on gender and far from being of the “bocor” category.

    Simon

  21. sofiairdina says:

There are things that MIGHT be true but people refrain from saying it. To say that women “bocor” every month is true too but it is still a sexist remark. Its like saying that women are bad drivers MIGHT be true too especially if you gave a few example from here and there. However, to pass a sweeping comment saying women are bad drivers are easily sexist. There is no data to support that.

Likewise, to say that women are bad leaders before menopause is extremely sexist. We know a few men who are bad leaders too and it never crossed anyone’s mind to ask whether he already had his period.

Is the AP Queen a better leader these days? We could guess her menopausal stage and she should be getting better? Is she?

  22. goldenscreen says:

Internal politics is very serious in DAP? Make you think twice before voting for DAP because of it? Don’t be ridiculous! The infighting in BN is 100x worse that this. Remember Anwar? Got beaten up in jail, falsely accused as a gay and sent to jail?

Remember Chua Soi Lek Sex DVD? You think it was not done by a certain dynasty in MCA? You think the triads in Johor peddling the DVD for free out of the goodness of their hearts?

What about Tan Kee Kwong? For the past few days all newspapers has been hyping him up to face DAP in Kepong, and yet now Lau Hoi Keong is nominated?

Parachute candidates? How bout Khairy in Rembau? NOR Mohamed Yakcop parachuting into Penang? MIC Batu Caves? Mukhriz – Langkawi? And many many more. Don’t be so foolish to believe the labels and story that the newspapers want to stick to the opposition, when the same or worse is happening in BN.

  23. whispering9 says:

If you follow the link http://34-menopause-symptoms.com/
you have the symptoms for menopause. Unless, you have their actual medical reports, you cannot assume that all women develop menopause at later stage. Do you know that even men have ‘menopause’ but TGF little blue pills. So, imho, the comment was sexist and quite a generalisation. :0 But since you are no MP, I guess it is only a genuine mistake lah. Cheer and jangan marah.

  24. wits0 says:

Whispering :”…So, imho, the comment was sexist..”

Yes it is, imao. Therefore actually uncalled for….unless one has some specific knowledge about the real situation between the people concerned here. It’s not helpful if it’s just a personal dislike for FPK for reason(s) unclear.

  25. jedyoong says:

    Haiyah…MCA even more politic….

    All forget
    1. Team A vs Team B……
    2. Chua Jui Meng…….B
    3. Now Chan Khong Choy B
    4. Chua Soi Lek A, then A2
    5. Serdang State Assemblyman bohliao
    6. Why Ong Ka Chuan keep getting chance for parliamentary seat one?
    7. That guy who runs the Bukit Bintang service station…Lee…talk to Mkini…means something wrong lah
    8. Stanley Koh, former head of research and planning…MCA formed INSAP, doing the same thing under someone else….
    Can tahan tak?

Also very drama, drama mah…..Read today’s NST on how within UMNO also lots of “SABO” cases lah.

  26. Harrison bin Hansome says:

    Dear Simon & Bamboo,

Every now and then, women always have the upperhand esp. in Malaysia such as:-

    -Women are exempted from caning.

-If a woman go to the police station and report that a man raped her,
the police would go arrest the man. On the inversion, the police would laugh the guys off.

-Alimony is normally paid to women after a divorve but men are entitled to none.

-Most of the girls I dated advances on me and they are self exonerated
because they are women, but if I do the same on them against thier will,
that would be a different story.

-Always, men are the ones who defended women, like the case of the “Bochorites” saga, but if a man suffered the same fate, such as being
mocked of impotence, short-d**ks, explicitly, even men would laught at
    you.

Jean made a good point here:-

“There are things that MIGHT be true but people refrain from saying it. To say that women “bocor” every month is true too but it is still a sexist remark. Its like saying that women are bad drivers MIGHT be true too especially if you gave a few example from here and there. However, to pass a sweeping comment saying women are bad drivers are easily sexist. There is no data to support that.”

Simon may be indiscreet in his choosing of words, but he meant no ill nor sexist will. He probably fares better to say ” Women WOULD NORMALLY
be better off after menopausal stage such as (……………..).

Let’s be fair to all gender. Did I miss something? P….No. Only with humans. Hahahahahahahha.

  27. simon wee says:

Bamboo river should learn to talk and argue like sofiairdina instead of sweeping things he does not like as crap.

At no time have I made a sweeping statement as I qualified it with “It would appear” and an observation. As such indiscretion does not arise as alluded to by Harrison bin Handsome.

By the way “Great leaders” ,the words I used for those after-menopause women, does not necessarily mean good leaders. The Sikhs would never like Indira and the Palestinians Golda Meir. These after -menopause women could rule their volatile countries pretty well as they were more stable.

If Ms Fong was in her fifties, instead of quitting she would probably handled it the way of the 50 something Chong Eng.

According to The Star she said ““I am very saddened by Fong’s move. On the whole, society is not supportive of women in politics. It is still very much the domain of men.”
“And being in the Opposition, it’s worse. A minority in a minority is even tougher,”
“Men and women are very different. Women are not as good as men in power play.
“But this does not mean they (women) are not capable. It just means that women are different in handling such power play,” she said.
“There must be a more supportive system for women in politics. Here we are trying to increase women representatives but the system is not supportive of them.”

But then Ms Fong is in her 30s and just got married.

My observation is a theory. Einstein established theories first and then explore and gather the evidence. Likewise more evidence would unfold to support my theory as events roll by.

  28. whispering9 says:

Hahaha…since you bring in Einstein who was once wrongly credited for Newton’s opposite and equal reaction theory, I have to make a correction here. First you make a hypothesis and then you gather evidence, mathematical calculation or experiment to support that hypothesis. After some peer reviews, you are allowed to call it a theory. For instance, hypotheoritically, anyone of whatever gender who is established as ‘chilli padi’ would not easily succumb to mere in-house politics without a strong urging. Can’t withstand the pressure is probably the lamest of all excuse. It is a known fact that if you can’t stand the heat then don’t work in the kitchen. Whatever the reason, this election is probably about sabotage and getting even. Hahaha…whatever, whatever. Good nite…got to go for some entertainment now.

  29. wits0 says:

W9: ” First you make a hypothesis and then you gather evidence, mathematical calculation or experiment to support that hypothesis. After some peer reviews, you are allowed to call it a theory. ”

    Bullseye, hahahaa! Exactly my understanding.

  30. simon wee says:

    Thanks whispering9. One learns everyday.
In that case my last paragraph should read:

“My observation is a hypothesis. Einstein established hypothesis first and then explore and gather the evidence. Likewise more evidence would unfold to support my hypothesis as events roll by.”

  31. bamboo river says:

Dear commentators, thank you for your views.
I could be right and Simon could be wrong or the other way round.
So maybe Simon should put his statement from this “It would appear that women make only great leaders after menopause. Eg Indira Ganhdi, Margarette Thatcher, Golda Meir etc.”
To this ” It would appear that women make only great leaders when their age is past 50’s.Eg. Indira Gandhi,Magaret Thatcher,Golda Meir etc”

However , I still could not comprehend why must we put womens’ intelligence or leadership quality based on their age?
Doesn’t seem fair or right. NO?
Anyway, I don’t want to digress more on this.
    Let’s move on.
