Today, I received a press, statement from the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Altantuya Shariibuu’s murder case. Allow me to reproduce the statement below, which records the Mongolian government’s interest in the case, from the very beginning, and it’s hope that the trial, starting this June 4, will be “free and fair from political influence”.
Also, it says that the representatives from the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia are expected to monitor the court session in Malaysia.
The press statement below:
“In October 2006 Ms. Sh.Altantuya, a 28-year-old single mother of two small children, who had worked as a multilingual interpreter and translator for a Malaysian company, went on a business trip to Malaysia as she informed her parents.
On October 19, 2006 at the residence of Mr. Baginda with whom she had a business association, she was captured by police and security officers. Since that time, she went missing. Malaysian police established that Altantuya was murdered on the same day in a jungle clearing outside of Kuala Lumpur, then exploded with explosives fastened to her body.
The Government of Mongolia, in accordance with its objective to protect the legitimate rights of its citizens abroad, has been working with the Malaysian government from the day of Ms. Sh.Altantuya’s missing in Malaysia.
On the 9th of November 2006, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a verbal note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia expressing its deepest concern over the brutal murder of the Mongolian citizen, demanding extensive investigation and securing fair legal procedures with regards the offenders.
On the 4th of December 2006 the Mongolia-Malaysia parliamentary group of the State Great Khural /Parliament/ of Mongolia made an appeal to the Members of the Parliament of Malaysia to observe due process of law in the police investigation and independent prosecution free from political pressure since the crime has allegedly involved influential political persons.
On the 8th of December 2006, the Prime Minister of Mongolia sent to the Prime Minister of Malaysia a letter expressing his honest belief in conducting intensive investigation in order to prosecute and punish alleged criminals and accomplices in the murder as well as granting independent fair court procedure.
On the 12th of December 2006 the Parliament’s Subcommittee on Human rights held a special session on this case.
The Deputy Director of the Consular Department of the MFA of Mongolia attended the court mention from the 13th to 18th of December 2006 and the Embassy of Mongolia in Bangkok participated in the court mention from the 4th to 6th of April 2007 in Malaysia.
They met several officials from the Malaysian Parliament, Government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Police, Immigration Service and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Malaysia, expressing great concern of the Mongolian government. Moreover the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia addressed a letter to the National Human Rights Commission of Malaysia requesting ”to make contribution to uncover this terrorizing case and bring proceedings against “bounty hunters” and guilty persons to justice”.
Representative from the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia are expected to monitor the Court session in Malaysia to be held in June 2007.
Mongolian public, world community, and international and regional media pay particular attention onto episode of judgment of this case. The Mongolian Government continues to take all necessary measures in accordance with international law to protect the legitimate interest and human rights of its nationals.
We do hope the court procedures will be fair and free from political influence”.

“We do hope the court procedures will be fair and free from political influence”. ”
Translates as, “We do not like what we have heard about the failure of your legal system due to meddling politicians in high profile cases before, and we actually demand(yet because of diplomatic constraint, can’t use this word) that your justice system isn’t just ice.”
No need a rocket scientist to get it into proper perspective actually.
Good show, Susan, for keeping us informed!
This shows even a small and poor country do not trust us for a fair trial .
Cannot blame them….too many if’s and but’s and Najib’s name is somewhat brought into the case.
Few more days..we can all least conclude how much are truths are how much are rumours….provide the court case satisfy everyone is fair ..especially to the Mongolian people.
Again…Susan has proven she does follows up’s until all completed.,,so systematically attitudes…so professionally and pain sticking efforts put out to give us latest news.
Thanks Susan.
I cant help falling in love with you my darling susan. You are so persistent
and combative.Stand for election i will vote for you.
[...] in Southeast Asia, Note2Self, Human Rights, Malaysia, Politics, Current Affairs. trackback Susan Loone forwarded yesterday’s Press Release from the Mongolian Foreign Affairs Ministry to a number [...]
During Pre-Mahathir’s time as PM, the whole world actually thought that Malaysia was a region in Singapore, which was in Timbaktoo.
And before Pak Lah’s time, Malaysia was an admiration throughout the world. Every foreign tourists had to stop over for a visit. Malaysia Boleh spirit saw the world powerhouse-to-be, in the form of Petronas Twin Towers, MSC, KLIA, etc sprouting up like nobody’s business. The Rakyat were fighting to pay for the bills at the Mamaks. Even the macho-men were singing along to the tune of the Patriotic song being played for the 10,998th time on TV, and seemed to be enjoying it.
And now, ever since Mahathir stepped down (from the word GO), Proton has gone a begging, ASEAN Members of Parliament demanding to know about the BOCOR talk, The Mongolian Government’s curiosity about our C4 diversed technology, The Chinese ear-pulling “Hustle” that won the world free-style dance recognition, The American elderly couple Khalwat Scandal of the decade, The Turkish Yacht Delight that made the Turkish Government says “Huhh, Oopps”, and such. And to think that this PM is soooooo well travelled, he certainly has his signature style of promoting Malaysia to the World.
And many of my friends now have mastered the skill of going to the loo just seconds before the mamak arrive with the bill.
Political influence and the Mangolian Nomads.
A friend of mine called me up early today from Shanghai and discussed about the coming trial of the above case commencing on Monday 4th June 2007 for at least three weeks. Their friends all feel there will not be a fair trial as the political influence and pressure are too heavy behind the scene. they have their reasons to believe to be so in view of what occured and the various statements made by the politicians and especially by the Inspector-General that there are no fourth party in the proceedings My answer was it is left to be seen. There are countless doubts and questions for Karpal Singh to perform as he is holding a Watching Brief on behalf of the Estate of the Deceased.
My friend jokingly replied not to downgrade the Mongolians in the event there is no justice from Malaysia, their horses can reach Malaysia as they had nearly reached the border of Paris and conquered the whole of China during the 13 & 14th centuries/ HaHaHaHa
yea…If it was Genghis Khan time…kill one of their mongolians…we all would have been dead by now…no Malaysian citizens..except women left to make babies and we many have be known as Mongomasia..or something like that…and we will then stiff competitions at Olympic games in wrestlings gold medals.
Then comes an idiot shouting he loves the queen from the street will either get his tonque cut off…or balls cut off…but I guess will be balls..to train him to give daily massages to both of them…only legs..no bodies. Bodies are left for beautiful females.
Where is bamboo river? Miss him.
This is new to me!! Mongo girl is working for a Malaysian company as an interpreter and translator .
So who was her lover Baginda close to? What was Baginda’s involvement in the arms deals…DIRECTLY INVOLVED!! Who is the Minister of Defence?…Najib.
RM50 million commission..who is to collect…mongo girl. Her commission for that job maybe a mere 1%…which infect meant alot to her.
Maybe was also told..no commissions..if promised RM50 not collected…not one sen less…AS THE WHOLE ARM DEAL WAS ARRANGED BY HER..judging where they came from…Russia.
Buyers try to play out seller..offered RM5 million. Heated arguments involved..but mongo girl is not just a translator. She was somewhat a mistress to Baginda….and indirectly was somewhat a high soceity prostitute …nothing to be surprised about….for few beaurtiful models that have been jilted and with a baby. WHO INTRODUCE HER TO BAGINDA TWO YEARS AGO??
That “WHO” will be the main culprit in the case…not Baginda…..that’s how I read it.
I got c4 from an expert. It is a controlled explosive…as small amount …like our small finder index…can blow up sky high..a large area. It is commonly used by suicide bombers in Middle East. Here we are peaceful..and such deadly item is clearly under the control of the Minister Of Defence.
Presuming the Minister is shit..and the stuffs is stolen by the murderers….now who are the three murderers??…all have connections with Najib’s family.not one is an out-sider.
Lets say they stole it..are they so idiotic to use it for such a case by themselves deciding it? NOT LOGICAL!!
But if one is very furious..almost sick to stomach for the whole episodes for days…cannot sleep..cannot think….cannot eat…the sense of logic is gone…so give instructions to use it…not really to destroy all evidences …but due to great hatreds. MEN DO NOT HAVE SUCH GREAT EMOTIONALS ATTACKS. IF THEY DO…THEY CAN BE MORE CALM……ESPECIALLY SEASON POLITICIANS. WOMEN ARE.
If the killers stole the C4, the Gomen is thereby responsible for its poor security practices. It’s a miltary grade explosive unlike the commercial equivalent of Semtex : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semtex
One can therefore argue that the Gomen is already implicated under the circumstances.
Get it clear folks! Only one person strapped with c4 material can explode the whole of one huge building. Like I said..I was told actually a very small amount…like even half the size of our small little index finger can blow up a huge area. With this….then only you know why is is a seriously guarded explosives…no one can touch without the permission of the Minister of Defence…maybe only PM can do that too..no one else.
Killers are acting on someone’s instructions witsO.They have no reasons to kill her…unless being instructed. So killers stealing the c4 is out of the question…logically speaking.
It is like they have the keys given to them to take it out..that is more logical.
Lastly….who the heck will be so angry to bombed her like that? Normal murders..kill and dump into the sea…bury it in the jungle….these are normal killing methods.
No the REAL MURDERER/MURDERERS have lost his/her marbels!!
Who are they or him or her…I have given my thoughts out.
What about yours?
Purely a business deal that went sour because someone decided it was cheaper to kill than to pay up the promised fees. Killed two birds with one stone, the shady contractual terms of military purchase hence also stay safe forever. So he(they) thought! The rest are largely miserable red herrings.
Real Killer: “I want that bitch to be done with”
Hired Killers:..’okay..We will kill her..tie a big rock and take a speed boat and dump her body into the middle of the sea…or bury her at the thick of the jungle. Which do you prefer boss?”
Real Killer: ‘NONE!! I want that bitch to vanish into think airs…not a shred of evidence. Use c4…that will do it”
Hired Killer: ‘okay boss”
Let’s assume that justice is possible in this case, and the murderer is convicted. Does anyone think that the death sentence will be upheld? Or will it go to royal pardon? We all know that the police officers were only acting on orders, and the whole event is very much premeditated. Man……..the suspense is killing me..
I BELIEVE ALL THREE WILL BE HANGED AND CASE CLOSED!
Truths as usual not known…for Judge may have to consider the behaviors of half past six citizens with mindsets..below monkey brains

Thank you Susan for the latest update on Ms Altantuya murder case.
I do not want to speculate the outcome of the court case but I do hope a justified JUSTICE will prevail. (Sorry about my lousy grammar)
Since this incident had attracted worldwide news, I hope the proceedings will get the bottom of the matter.
What happened had already put a black mark on our country reputation. More solely to the involvement of the security people of the government. Questions need to be answered both in and out of the court.
Susan , are you or any of the bloggers you know is going to attend the proceedings?
Monsterball, hello there… Lets not judge the Judge as we must respect the court . What is a court without a Judge? We must know that the outcome is not solely on the Judge but also on the prosecutor and the defense lawyer.
Besides that, the law has to perform before the guilty(or guilties) can be punished.
I am not trying to be funny with you Monsterball….just want to be optimistic.:-).
bamboo river!! So nice to see you back. I AM NOT JUDGING A JUDGE. I am saying the Judge may have to think far far more than the judging the case … to be wise and decisive.
Not that I personally like what I wrote above… bamboo river……but that’s the nature of our country…unless we change the government.
Bah! What gives? Maybe we should also send reps to Mongolia to monitor their criminial trials?
To insinuate that Malaysia’s justice system is suspect is a serious charge. Based on what? Maybe the Mongols can give examples where we have mis-handled cases involving foreign victims???
Just how much is our trade with those Mongols anyway? Those ex-communists tent-dwellers should look into their own affairs!
Dear anonymous,
The Mongolians ARE looking into their own affairs. One of their own has been murdered in Malaysia. Altantunya was not the only victim here. Her family is also suffering. They want to see justice done. Any self respecting government would send their representative also.
“Just how much is our trade with those Mongols anyway? ” This statement of yours…..does it mean that we can simply murder anyone who comes to Malaysia if they are not benefiting us financially? Is life so cheap to you?

In fact, this trait of caring for their nationals to such an extent is to be admired. It doesn’t matter how poor or backward that country is; I hope the same can be said about Bolehland.
I’m quite that Anonymous has read about a number of high profile cases being messed up by the police or prosecutors – that’s the simplest way to go about it!
I’m also quite sure the Mongolians would have known about it; that’s why they are so concerned.
Wouldn’t you want your government to go all out to seek justice when you are killed and blown up in a foreign land, Anonymous?
We must prove to the world we are not trade crazy….but champion of fair plays and human rights…by even so… be much more attentive to Mongolian requests..if any… on coming case…as they are poor and small simple country….more so..we need to take care of them,
Above all…we are very fortunate to have an opportunity to deal and be acquainted with one of the world’s oldest and riches cultural human beings…although it would have been nicer …if the matter is of a pleasant one……instead of a murder case.
Hi all,
Poor the dead lady. First a mistress now a high soceity prostitute. Just because she’s a model?
half a size of little index finger can blow up huge area? really ah? i never know that. Wonder how much they use to blow her up since the trees around the crime scene area looks ok in the news.
Really amazing what we can learn from blogs.
Cheers all.
Anonymous May 23rd, 2007 at 12:31 pm, You’re unabashedly parochial. A perfect candidate for those “my country, right or wrong”, bigot who’ll expectedly seek refuge in blind “patriotism”. A perfect serf for the high placed scoundrels with power.
Never heard of some M’sian CLC linked company trying to defraud taxes/royalties from an African country lately? Never heard of Irene Fernandez being persecuted for speaking up for the atrocious treatment of illegal Bangladeshis immigrants? I guess not.
Noname, that Altantuya is anyone’s mistress seems to need proving first. That she is dead and foully murdered is a fact not allegation. That there is public doubt existing regarding the case is a result of public experience and observation. This perception cannot be simply pooh-poohed away. And the same perception seems to have crossed international borders as well. Quite an “achievement”, it appears, and rightly earned, no?
Hi wits0,
Ur absolutely right there. But it wasn’t me who said she’s a mistress or prostitute. Pick it up somewhere in here. Just that I pity her and the family with what people simply write. Who knows the father might be reading this blog.
noname…Most of us here are trying to put out our messages based on sincere thoughts..which are mostly guess works..as we keep on getting whatever informations. Even in actual police crime solvers are based on guessing works using one or two facts found…and their experiences.
Able to presume the victim being this or that should not be judged as an insult to the victim or her father. We are not here to please anyone on a murder case. We don’t say we are right..but I am sure police love to read all our opinions..if written with intelligence.
Try to have a power of such good imaginations or at least appreciate those who have that special gift and not to judge others. Main thing for you is to read and feel if that writer have a one sided ulterior motive to led others astray. No reason to…thus please read with a positive attitude. THANKS
noname…It was me saying those things and are said with no insults nor favouring anyone….especially the father….but the way you put out your message is with a touch of sarcasm…very easy for anyone to learn that. That’s why I put out the above… to advise you to learn to appreciate others powerful imaginations and hope you can acquire such gifts of good brainwaves one day.
Inilah masanya bangsa Melayu menyahut cabaran globalisasi sebelum terlambat.
Mansurkan DEB Dasar Ekonomi Baru sebelum terlambat.
Mansurkan DEB Dasar Ekonomi Baru sebelum terlambat. Mansurkan DEB sebelum ulangtahun 50 hari jadi Malaysia 31 Ogos 2007.
On the NEP and the special position of the Bumiputera …
Please read the following blog by a famous and intelligent lawyer about the special position of the Malay and bumiputera as mentioned in Article 153.
http://www.malikimtiaz.blog…
“I say this to lay foundation for the question of whether the Federal Constitution does provide for a privileged existence in the manner suggested at the general assembly.
The constitutional provision pivotal to any discussion of this subject is article 153. It refers to the ‘special position’ of the Malays and the natives of Sabah and Sarawak and declares that it is the responsibility of the Yang Dipertuan Agong to safeguard these communities and the legitimate interests of other communities. It does not describe this ‘special position’ as a privileged status.
The founders of the nation did not at any point in time contemplate the creation of a two-tiered society such as some of some might have us believe. They contemplated the possibility that due to historical factors there might be a need to introduce certain measures so as not to allow for the dislocation or marginalizing of certain communities. This was not intended to translate into a promotion of particular communities to the detriment of others.
For this reason, article 153 recognises the legitimate interests of other communities. Further, it provides the means to ensure an adequate balance in the way protection measures are deployed. It is in this light that provision is made for reservation of positions in the public service and of scholarships, exhibitions and other similar educational or training privileges or special facilities given or accorded by the Federal Government and permits and licences where such are required under federal law. This balance is guaranteed further by the express declaration that the provision is not aimed at empowering the restriction of business or trade solely for the purpose of the protective measures. In short, there is no basis for wholesale reservations or quotas.
”
http://www.malikimtiaz.blog…
“Put another way, despite suggestions to the contrary the Federal Constitution does not lend itself to any notions of a privileged existence for any community. It does however envisage a protected status for the Malays and the indigenous which allows for selective measures to be taken fairly and reasonably to a particular end. Any policy of the Federal Government aimed at achieving this end, whether the National Economic Policy, the New Development Policy or otherwise, cannot be seen as vesting greater rights than those contemplated under Article 153. Any other reading would allow for the kinds of abuses that are apparent.
The analysis offered above is not a difficult one. Article 153 is clear. It lends itself to affirmative action where such action is needed. Political expediency has resulted in the provision being mischaracterized and used to particular ends. This in itself is not surprising as politicians will operate as politicians do. What is of interest to me is how and why the characterization has been permitted by Malaysian society to perpetuate to the extent that as we come into our 50th year as an independent nation, the ‘two-tier’ notion has become so entrenched in our social landscape. And why is it that even as the notion continues to divide us, we insist on describing what happens in the country as being a part of a democratic process?
One of the principal reasons for this sad state of affairs is the nurturing of a climate of fear. Laws that allow for preventive detention without trial like the Internal Security Act, that stifle free expression such as the Sedition Act and the Printing Presses and Publications Act and which impede necessary access to vital information such as the Official Secrets Act have kept many Malaysians in the dark and in fear. If they have not been directly threatened or attacked, these laws have allowed the unscrupulous to demonize concerned Malaysians as being anti-Malay or anti-constitutional. They have allowed for the perversion of the social contract theory.
Additionally, a conservative Judiciary which has shied away from developing a strong civil rights tradition in our legal system has perhaps unwittingly allowed for the concomitant undermining of the rule of law. This has weakened our sense of right and wrong.
In this way, policy stereotypes have been permitted to develop and in effect become the law. Our claims to social integration are a hollow boast. Harmony cannot be found at the bottom of the gun barrel that supremacist Malay thinking is pointing at all others including non-extremist Malays.
If UMNO is serious about making amends for what transpired at the general assembly, let us hear then from its leaders of a plan by which the Federal Government intends to take us back to the spirit of protection and the dismantling of the ‘privilege’ mindset. Let us hear an admission of how the climate of fear has led to the development of racist tendencies that no amount of platitudes will help us deal with.
Until then, Malaysians should be forgiven for thinking that they have arrived at the beginning of the end.”
I support the Constitution of the special position of the Malay, the role of the Sultan, the preservation of the Malay language and culture. I am glad of the identity of Malaysia so far being rich in culture and having the Bahasa Malaysia language and an official religion of Islam. This are all symbols to celebrate the rich diversity we have. Also it is meant to ensure the Malay culture does not go extinct. This is important as in other countries, the red indians or the Hawaiians fear the loss of their culture, and affirmative action is in place to safe guard against that.
So the special position of the Malays in getting training and in giving them aid when they need it is praise worthy. But, what is to be scorned at:
1. Bumiputera getting housing discount of houses above RM300,000.
2. Bumiputera getting contracts when they are not capable to do it.
3. Chancellors of Universities being elected even when they are not capable.
4. Professors who are not Bumiputera do not get recognized encouraging brain drain in Malaysia and the status of Malaysian universities dropping drastically to a pathetic state losing to all Asian countries.
5. Corruption in the UMNO politicians.
6. Corruption in the Badawi family.
Wahai rakyat Malaysia

monty, i said no scolding people, ok?
The Mongolian Government’s proactive action in sending its representatives to follow the case is commendable. I don’t see the Malaysian Government doing anything like this for our people. There are two Malaysian workers in Saudi Arabia who took refuge in our consular office, surviving on instant noodles. All these because of a commercial dispute. Has our Government done anything? I don’t know but I read in the papers that they were told to leave the office, which is part of our Government’s representation in Saudi Arabia. Where do you find sanctuary and protection if your Government abandons you?

Aiya, its obvious where the chain of command leads to. Like Oswald in Kennedy assasination cover up, where Oswald was killed as a scapegoat etc. I think all 3 will “commit suicide ” in prison. And the 3 bodies wont be thiers. probably they are substitutes of god forsaken prisoners who are not visited and have no family records whatsover. Like illegal immigrant criminals etc. There are plenty of them around. Or all 3 will be convicted guilty and they will find 3 les miserable substitues and hang them in thier place. Then 3 will be given substantial money and sent packing to other countries with new identities.
Such happened before ler with lesser cases. And with this, I m sure same will happen.

Salute to hawaiichee….
he knows the truth and things should be done in m’sia.
M’sia suppose to be wonderfull country but it slowly turning out to be very unfair.
During british rulling the first people went straight to british to ask for independence was chinese follow by indian then only malay. But british has ask every body to united in order to et independence but they rulled only majority rules the country, at that point of time UMNO leader quickly get and urge more and more malays from indonesia to come m’sia to be majority. unfortunately for chinese and indian they can do that….you all should why…..malays are cheaters in the beginning its self, yet they still no where near indian chinese economy, so they have plan for may 13 riots to create new rules, new economu policy etc to rob chinese and indians..again cheating. Now they are cheating us in education, goverment job, and etc…..
