From Indonesia to Latin America, Bloggers United
Welcome back, Nila Tanzil. Nila is now officially a Bloggers United member! Go give her some support on her blog, okay?
This woman became an over-night heroine, because one of Malaysia’s dimwit Toursim Minister accused her of tarnishing the country’s bureaucrats. Subsequently she lost her job, in the midst of her mourning her lover’s death. Anyway, Nila is back from Australia, where she attended Morgan’s funeral. I received her email last night:
“Hi Susan,
Sorry for haven’t been in touch for a while. I just returned from Australia on Wed night. Now, am back on track! Still try to hold on. It’s tough though, but I guess I have to start organizing my life back.
FYI, Metro TV (one of private TV stations in Indonesia) interviewed me today to discuss about my blog issue. The show will be aired on Sunday, 11.30am on “e-lifestyle program”, titled “Blogger vs Malaysia”. There will be discussions as well with 3 guest speakers: Budi Putra, Wimar Witoelar and Nukman Lutfie. I was absence in the discussion since I was still in Sydney
. It should be interesting to watch the program.
Ps: i’ve added Bloggers United logo in my blog. Thanks, Susan”.
Blog on Nila, Malaysians are so proud of you!
Meanwhile, Ma. Alenjandra Gaviria, from Argentina replied to my mail as well. Alenjandra works for an NGO called Asociación Vientos del Sur . They deal with issues such as youth, currently developing a project with youth refugees from ACNUR (UNHCR but the letters in spanish). Alenjandra is from Colombo, and have done some job there with bloggers and freedom of expression and association on line or off line .
Picture: “I, a blogger”, from Alenjendra.
She said “I was talking with one of them, who work on those organizations too, and they´d be glad to make network with Bloggers United and think about future actions together“.
She sent a picture from an article from one of the guys who she worked with in Latin America: Damianpofeta : Lo importante no es que seas blogger. Lo importante no son los blogs. Ni siquiera Internet es lo importante. Lo importante es nuestra libertad de expresión.
“The most important thing isn´t to be a blogger. tTe most important aren´t the blogs. Not even Internet is the most important. The most important is our expression freedom..”
Alejendra also said she had been talking with other bloggers on social issues, from whole Latin America and they´ve been really interested about starting something like the Bloggers United model but with local issues, while coordinating with us on global issues.
she signed off with “I send you my best wishes and solidarity with the social and just fight of your people“.
I am truly pleased about this development and looking for more coorporation with bloggers all over the world. Indeed, this spirit is spreading like wild fire: Are you prepared for this, my friends?
HAVE A GREAT WEEK AHEAD!

Susan…Please explain to commenters. You and few others bloggers have your hits put of for all to see….but someone said RPK have 1.5 millions hits per day and right now..he has hit 50 million and was congratulated…yet his hits are never put out for viewers to see.. Did I miss something?
And is it not strange that World Press have never recorded any of MT’s posts as the post of he month …or being recorded as the best 50 posts of the world at all!
Can you explain that? Thanks.

Strange..so much congratultaions to RPK…but he never acknowledge nor thank them. In the past..he put out something and ask for votes and have targeted 200,000….but less than 10,000 votes registered. If there are so many millions viewers..it will be esay to get the target…is it not?
Maybe Susan may find it not right to comment on this as a fellow blogger? Then it is okay.
Can anyone explain?

wow..monsterball sure has a lot questions.. When would we have our T shirt …
KY - April 2, 2007 at 1:52 pm
Again…there is no such thing as bad publicity. Even Paris Hilton knows that. She (paris) would’ve been just another actress just like Nilla Tanzil would’ve been another blogger without the publicity; good or bad. In a way, may be its a blessing that these dimwits (kali, ku nan, nazri, etc) start to attack the bloggers and unknowingly raised bloggers like rocky and jeff to another level. It raised the overall awareness without bloggers like susan having to do the paris hilton…. keep on wishing monty…
On MT… 1.5 million hits does not mean 1 million unique readers. RPK did explained that.

KY T-….Shirt donations by me … cancelled lah. Few bloggers do not want me to be in court nor my donations. That’s some of those few bloggers logic on UNITY…mostly from Malays.’..spearheadd by famous daiughter of someone. I GIVE YOU ONE GUESS.
The good news …I saved few thousand ringgits…no thanks to monsterball….hahahaha
monsterball - April 2, 2007 at 4:19 pm
NO JEANCUMLATELY…50 MILLIONS HITS…AT 1.5 MILLLION PER DAY. ALL I WANT IS TO KNOW THE LOGIC……AS HE PUTS OUT FOR VOTES CALLING FOR 200,000….ONLY 10,000 OR LESS VOTED AFTER THREE MONTHS.
SO WHERE IS THE LOGIC??
monsterball - April 2, 2007 at 4:22 pm
jeancumlately…I fully understand 1.5 million per day… may come from come from 300,000 thousand readers.
But where is the proof?
Now I remember…not more than 10,000 voted I said….which I recalled actually … not more than 300!!
monsterball - April 2, 2007 at 4:27 pm
Susan,
Its great that she has started blogging, but I have a feeling momentum on the issue has been lost. Silence on his part has worked…..
So where do we go from here?
mindspring - April 2, 2007 at 7:40 pm
hi monsterball, am not an expert on hits to comment on this. but if RPK got 50 millions hits, we should be really really happy! that shows the power of the net.
mindspring, momentum will come back again once another blogger cross their path..surely this is not the last of things :=)
susan loone - April 2, 2007 at 8:09 pm
Susan…Any blog owner gets 50 million hits…all citizens are happy. Don’t get me wrong.
But are we living on false information? Why am I FINDING SO HARD TO MAKE OTHERS UNDERSTAND?
MY ENGLISH MUST BE DAM LOUSY….HAHAHAHA
monsterball - April 2, 2007 at 8:19 pm
Are you guys wanting a lesson on business?….hahahahaha
Want or not here goes…RPK site has many sponsors. Look at the sides and see all those advertisers. One may not like to be revealed..thus put out a non company sign..just for show .to legimately pay advtertising fees.
For such a popular site like MT…I estimated each normal advertiser is willing to pay RM12,000 per anum…so you add them up. Then..looking at MT side obviously supported by very high profile politician….always anti-establishment posts highlighted…the main anti Pak Lah man should be his main sponsor. Now..one cannot just pay RMImillion…just like that per year.
So may found a way to pay large portion with CLICKS!!
What is CLICKS?? Goggles will pay any blogger their incentives…based on clicks….but most bloggers avoid taking from googles for fear on funny x-rated sites simply to interfere. So why goggles do not have interfeences from other sites to MT or Malaysiankini.?..these are special clients and they have people to filter them out.
Rocky once told me he do not want goggles commission for fear of this….and many bloggers really are blogging for the love of this or that without thinking of incentives. They simply treasure their privacies.
