Should the UMNO candidate go to TAR University also?
The answer is YES. Coz MCA will give him a scholarship.
A report on Malaysiakini Chinese website stated that Deputy Finance Minister I and MCA Women chief Ng Yen Yen had taken a sarcastic jibe at Batu Talam’s independent candidate, Ng Chee Pang.
In a press statement, she criticised him for his low education status, which is up to SPM(school certificate) level only.
She added that he needed to further his studies, while chastising him for having no political experience and having to rely on his father to respond to questions by the press.
She thus chided the young man for not having the necessary capability as a state assemblyman. But guess what happen less than 12 hours later.
Ms Ng, who was once besieged by the controversy that she was an Australian PR (permanent residence) when she became senator even suggested to Chee Pang to either study in TAR college or TAR university and apply for the Chang Ming Thien Foundation Study Loan established by MCA.
However, Ms. Ng retracted her statement in less than 12 hours. Her information and publicity bureau informed the press to do the necessary.Because apparently the UMNO candidate himself was also a SPM holder.

wendy - January 18, 2007 at 7:56 pm
The Chinese would say that Dr Ng talked without going through her big brain!
She has never come across as a sincere representative.
bayi - January 18, 2007 at 8:42 pm
Susan, you are great! Ng Yen Yen talks but never knew it will bounce back at her ass. She deserve it. I hope this news is publicised to the general public so that the voters will know it.
Maverick - January 18, 2007 at 9:43 pm
Ng Yak Yak seems a more appropriate name….not just merely on this one count alone. If only she blogs….the chance of self-improvement may even then be possible …from the flaks that’s sure to be produced.

I must CnP this one. So hilarious and ORIGINAL.
moo_t - January 18, 2007 at 11:20 pm
BTW, NYY is doing personal attack on the candidates educational level.
It is bad taste from the point of view of 1st world standard.
moo_t - January 18, 2007 at 11:27 pm
If they want to talk about the MP educational level, we should send EVERY BN MP to Pre-3 kindergarten. For Pak Lah, we don’t need to send him there, it would just be wasting the fees…because he will be sleeping in the class 24×7.

Once upon a time there was a famous “Professor Cacing” who declared that a certain form microscopic worms caused that malaise with some people. That’s been long forgotten.
Today we ought to study why it takes an Oxford education to make keris waving demagogue. Has a British tertiary education today gone so low?
wits0 - January 19, 2007 at 12:12 am
keris kissing is apparently part of the culture………we must respect other people’s culture….

You are absolutely right bamboo river!
susan loone - January 19, 2007 at 9:04 am
Well said, bamboo river, u shud offer urself as a candidate for the next GE – my vote wud surely go to u. The benchmark for an elected rep shud be integrity, sincerity & sense of justice. If we go by this standard most of the MPs, ADUNs and ministers wud ……… (fill in the blanks).

The moment I read this piece of news , I cc’ed it to all of my contacts for a good laugh. Seeing that she has to retract her statement shows that she must have received many complaints from other stateassemblymen and parlimentarians who has even lower education and lower IQ than the 2 contestants.
R2D2 - January 20, 2007 at 6:58 am
SPM holders and other less qualified Malaysians do not cast your vote for this woman in the next GE.She would be ashamed of your votes.Feel sorry for UM alumni.
wishuponastar - January 20, 2007 at 9:46 am
…and she is campaigning diigently for him…someone whom she doesn’t know very much about!
typical case of BLIND SUPPORT.
like the bloody cow following other cows!
rickyliow - January 20, 2007 at 10:01 am
Ng Yen Yen’s behaviour is typical of politicians who patronise and talk down on the people who have voted her into the Parliament.

[...] a less bizarrely funny note, I read via Susan Loone and others about an article in Malaysiakini, Chinese edition. I’ll just go ahead and quote [...]
